The additional Kobo features are more interesting to me than the higher resolution display. I'll wait for ZodWallop in case he wants to compare the Kobo with the Nook and then decide on these two.

Thanks everyone!

There's a thread on requesting firmware improvements for the nook Glowlight 3 and most of them already exist in the Kobo Firmware.

How does Glowlight 3 fare against the original Aura? How is support for HTML (unstyled and style-override), RTF, and TXT in both devices?
Sorry man. I've used the Glowlight 3 very little. It's used by my better half and only has epubs loaded on it via Calibre.

As a reader, it's very nice. but outside of a book, the Glowlight software is very basic compared to my Kobo

This works much better than the Adobe hyphenation dictionary with settings of 5 for left and right. I had a look the other day at the ADE 2.0.1's hyphenation dictionary and it's set to 2 for left and 3 for right and even that's better.

Kobo can easily fix this issue by changing the numbers. I would suggest 2/3 as ADE 2.0.1 uses.
The hyph_en.dic on the tolino is 186KB and has a copyright statement from Adobe a the top. The left and right hyphen settings are 3 and 4 respectively. As I changed them by at least 1, they were probably 2 and 3 before. That improved things a lot on the tolino. With the lower numbers, every second line ended with a split word. With the higher numbers, it is closer to what I see on the Kobo. Probably still more often than I like, but better.

Just checking the Kobo firmware, and it is 5 for both values.

Have the beta testers for Kobo firmware ever complained about the hyphenation dictionary values being so high?
