Loved your word choice. Besides: we all learned new things. Thread drift is nothing new. I have seen some drift so far they circled the globe.

You want to derail a thread, state an opinion on whether 'social DRM' is DRM... no matter the original purpose of the thread, it will be derailed for three pages minimum.

No need to apologize. To quote from the greatest of all Dr. Seuss books, One Fish,
Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish
: "These things are fun, and fun is good."

:zips lips: Nope, not gonna debate "social DRM". That way lies all sorts of madness, and there are so many better ways of spending my time. Have still not used my Kobo coupon yet, now I have another for 50% off. Naturally with my luck it's gonna be useless to me because as far as I can tell, it only applies to a certain list. No doubt one that's full of stuff I either don't want or already own.

And now I see the Kindle Fire has come to Canada just in time for Christmas. Must investigate that too, methinks, as both my tablets are old, slow and not that great on the eyes, especially for reading.

Like GeoffR who posted way back in the early part of this thread, I'm from New Ulster, and I was happy to grab a light murder mystery as my freebie. Book 1 of a series, so I can check it out before deciding if the others are worth buying. But yes, more range would be great. I still think $10 is not a bad price to get discounted books. Now if only tere was a way to browse ONLY books with a VIP discount!
