I believe it's 15% discount for every book purchased for the length of the membership.

Yup, your right. That'll teach me to throw off figures off the top of my head.

Was actually thinking about something else, where I could get a 10% discount and ended up putting that figure here.

It's a 15% discount -- and if you buy Secure Ereader (easily converted to html) you get a 5% micropay rebate on top of that. The best part is that both those deals stack with any other site or personal discounts you might have. I bought Koontz' Night Chills in Secure Ereader and got 15% off the list price ($6.79 instead of $7.99) and received $7.13 in micropay.

I ended up with $68.38 worth of eBooks for $36.74 over the last couple of days. My memberships already paid for itself.

Is Secured Ereader .lit? I've been getting PRC because I thought secured Ereader was Adobe Digital Edition.

I've spent $74 since joining. I have $25 in my MicroPay account. For $49 I got:

Don't Know Much About History
Don't Know Much About The Bible
Don't Know Much About The Civil War
Don't Know Much About Anything
Don't Know Much About Anything Else
Sarah by Kaylene Johnson
Worth The Fighting For - John McCain
The Audacity Of Hope - Barack Obama
Promises To Keep - Joe Biden
1 year membership to the Australian eBook Library
1 year membership at Fictionbooks

So that's about $5.44 per nicely-formatted book. Especially for The Don't Know books, a good TOC of contents if of essence because it's just a whole book of questions and answers (and each question and answer gets its own entry in the TOC).

eReader is eReader - it is a format, and is distinct from both "lit" (which is Microsoft Reader format) and Adobe Digital Edition (which can be either PDF or ePub).

Can it be converted into other formats? What's the extension? Thanks!

eReader is most commonly encountered as a Palm Database (PDB) file. I don't know if there are "converters" for it or not, I'm afraid, since it's a format I don't use myself. Have you looked in the wiki? That's generally the best place to start.

eReader2html.py is a Python Program that will strip the DRM and convert to HTML. There is no way to remove the DRM and still keep it as an eReader file.

If I go eReader -> HTML -> PRC will it keep its TOC linked to each section and will it keep the formatting?

Any copyright-free DRMs ereader file I can try? I'd hate to buy one and then find out it converts all wrong.

I think there are a few in the "Other Formats" book uploads section here.

EDIT: Sorry - ignore me. Didn't spot the "DRM'd" bit!

Well I found information on ereader2html... do you need the WHOLE card number? Because I realized that a few years ago I bought a couple of books at the official ereader site and it only gives the last 4 of the credit card used (and that credit card is long gone).

You don't need the whole number, but you do need the last 8. However the card number for a given book can be reset. Here's the instructions from the eReader.com FAQ:

Quote:
How can I change my Credit Card to unlock new books?

The first is to buy more books with your new credit card. Once you have made a purchase with a new credit card, you can log in to your account and reset the unlock code on your previous purchases to be the new credit card, then download the books again. In this case, a new purchase is required to verify the new credit card number.

Your second choice, if you do not wish to purchase additional books at this time, is to reply to this message with a phone number and time of day when it will be convenient for us to call you and provide you with the old number over the phone. For security reasons, we cannot send credit card numbers through email.
Hope that helps.
