Thank you for your kind words, and for introducing your kitties.
Very few people have posted here in recent years, even though quite a lot of MR members have pets (they sometimes get mentioned in posts about other things). Maybe posting pet pictures just isn't a thing anymore.

Anyway, a few photos of the old boy. This guy was really special. Extremely territorial, with a mean streak in him. He was a stray at a young age, and was quite violent when we got him. A true nuisance in his first year. Then he developed a loyal, almost possessive character. He'd attack and chase dogs away. But this also meant that he had a habit of getting hurt often, as he'd lose it if a foreign cat came into his territory. He was always at the vets for various things. His immune system wasn't great, so each larger scratch meant almost a week of recuperation. Besides those instances, he was strong, big, and playful. I shed quite a few tears when he finally had to be put down because his health finally gave up. That was years ago, but I still have a few scars from him. I'd be reading outside, then he'd drag himself from somewhere, climb into my lap, warm himself, purr and be as happy as a kitten, then after a while, he'd narrow his eyes, pull his ears back, and attack a leg or an arm, then whisk himself away. |

He doesn't look mean at all, but looks can be deceiving.
