I got one too, although I got it before the black Friday sales when it was on sale at Best Buy for $33. I also have no real idea why I bought it but it turns out I use it quite a bit for simple games and old videos. I have a 64 gig card in it full of 1950's and 1960's TV shows in MP4 that I've ripped from DVDs and I watch them regularly.

The beauty of the cheap Fire is that it's disposable. It's always turned on and ready to use. I charge it every 2 or 3 days and it stays pretty well charged in between. I'll charge it more when I use it a lot.

I'm usually reluctant to leave tablets turned on because they die when the battery does but with this one I don't care. I think it's also helping me learn the value of not caring with my better tablets as well.

As tablets go this isn't much. It's not bad. Everything works as it should. It's interface is very clumsy. Although I paid to have ads turned off I still get some, mostly as notifications but also they're scattered around the tablet in various places. The screen isn't very good but it's okay. I sure wouldn't want to read on it but for games and videos it's fine. The sound isn't good but I have a bluetooth speaker. All in all I'm glad I got it. When it's battery dies I'll be glad of that too.

I've been mislead by the avatars in forums as well as by names. There's one avatar of a cat that, until I looked really close, I thought was a picture of a bird dropping. It bothered me every time I encountered it even though the person using it always seemed perfectly reasonable. Once I realized what it was I felt a little silly until the next time I saw it and it still looked like a bird dropping. Oh well.

OK, I put in a complaint to my bank and Amazon has fully refunded me the order without asking me to return anything. I am boxing all the stuff up tonight and sending them back. I wish I did not have to go this route though.

I purchased a pair of cutting boards that were enroute for 2 months and noted as not delivered on my order status. No tracking number. The item was in stock and available. There is no button to push to complain, ask for a refund, ask for status, or anything in this scenario. Amazon doen't list a phone number on their website. I finally got a refund via my visa card. I googled their phone number. Yep, they have one, should have used it in the first place. I order thousands of dollars of stuff a year, since about 1999. This was a first. I suspect a semi truck had an accident and the package lost.

I once had something like that happen, not with Amazon but another company, which fortunately had good customer service and sent me a replacement. The original package eventually turned up a couple weeks later. The address label on package had everything about my address correct except the state. Apparently somebody had made a typo at the time my order was placed, and it took that long for the shipping company to figure out the correct state.

Hmmm. The last time I had a package not get delivered, I just went to my orders. Clicked I never received it and got a refund.
Oh and there is a contact us page for orders.
You put in your phone number and they call you within one minute.

Nope, those weren't options. It was frustrating. I did get a shipping notice, but then it was cancelled. Thus, I think the system treated it like it didn't get shipped so there was no "not delivered" button. It started shipping so there was no "return" button. See attached.

Ok, here is the back door, on any Amazon page, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. Click on help, then in the next window click your orders, on the next page sign in.

Yeah, except I did that and ran several of the options through (cancel, return, etc.). None worked because of the state of the order, neither here nor there. It is a programming error, probably 1 in 1000.
