BTW, anyone has a white kindle? Does the white bezel affect your reading? I mean isn't it glazed?

No, the bezel is plastic. No glass.

I know it is plastic. Comparing to the black, white reflects more light. You know what I mean! White could be more distracting.

If you're asking if it's shiny, no, it's not. It's a matt white.

And there's no need to make devices lighter. Leave them alone so they have room for a hefty battery and can be held easier. There comes a point when it's gone too far. The iPhone 7 phones are a case in point.

BTW, I was told that the battery of the Apple products is one of the most toxic batteries ever made. I am not sure about it. But I avoid using Apple products. Last edited by 344a; 10-18-2016 at 10:12 PM.

How about a plastic screen vs a glass screen? There are probably more ways and different trade offs (ergonomics, ruggedness, cost, ...)

Sounds like the typical sort of anti-Apple rhetoric that's unfortunately common. Apple use exactly the same Lithium Ion battery technology that everyone else does. All batteries are toxic, but Apple's are no more so than anyone else's.

Thus speaks a man without RSI. For me, holding more than 150g or so in one hand hurts after ten minutes or so. But clearly your beliefs must govern!

Yes,you are asking for too much. There needs to be some heft to these devices so they are easier to hold. There also needs to be more room for a battery that holds more of a charge. So that means no more thinner and lighter. Just pick a decent size and leave it at that. If batteries do get smaller, then we can have even more battery life as there will be plenty of size for a good battery.

I don't like Apple, and I don't hate them either.

My Oasis internal device battery has run low twice -- both times when I was trying to run it out. I've never even got a low-battery warning otherwise, and I never even look at the battery life. I wouldn't have believed it either, but combined with the case battery, the tiny six-hour-or-so battery really is long enough: there is no need for a larger one, and any weight spent on it woudl be weight wasted. You just have to treat the case as part of the device, and get into the habit of snapping it back in whenever you're not actually reading.
