I finally found the time to install Energy System firmware on my T62D. I charged it fully and, after 16 hours in standby (with wifi off) the battery is still at 100%. On the other side, with Boyue firmware, rooting and deep sleep, it fully discharged in a couple of days. So, this is a very satisfying starting point; now I plan to try a few reading apps, dictionaries, and calibre companion.
Many thanks to Dopedangel and kacir, you have been most helpful! Thank you! P.S. Oh well, I could add karma for Dopedangel but not for kacir because I already gave him some... well, I will, as soon as I can! Last edited by OneiroDancer; 09-23-2015 at 04:49 AM. |

Wooops, sorry, in the last month I had very little time to fiddle with the reader, and a few paper books to read, so I haven't gained more esperience...
...I will return here as soon as I have something more to report, sorry for having disappeared! ![]() |

I have read three books on the reader in the last two weeks.
I enjoyed it, I really like the screen and after a while I forget that I am using a reader - the best that I can say about the reading experience :-) I tried to use the dictionary just to test it; it works, I am not very satisfied with the contents, since it just gives a list of synonyms and no definitions, but as far as I can tell the software is ok. I am using 2.0.0B, but I cannot really say much about battery duration, since the reader kept switching off between my reading sessions. I found the option in the settings and I just disabled it, so I will be able to say something more about battery duration in a few days. I found it irritating that there were no intermediate value for the switching off between 120 minutes and "never"; I would have set it to 24 or 48 hours, for example, just to stop an eventual draining when I don't use the reader for one or two days. Anyway, let's just check how long it lasts with normal use with switchoff disabled... |
