With the new firmware I got a "double click" on the enter button and that has never happened with the old firmware. I wonder if the fix they have done to get it more responsive is to just increase the sample time in some way and not handling pressing some buttons fast two times in a row.

I just did the update from my Mac and I had no problem at all. I downloaded the new build to the Macbook, copied it to the SD card on an external card reader (the card with all my books on it). Put it back in the cybook, followed Derek's instructions and it worked like a charm! Regards, Georges |

Don't feel bad. I'm nursing a broken Cybook (see attached image) that I picked up on eBay. I'll probably have to send it in for a display repair/replacement, but I'm going to tinker with it a bit first - see if maybe a complete restore of the firmware files might not help. But even if I *do* have to send it in, between what it cost me on eBay and what a screen replacement runs, I'll be far ahead of the game. Derek |

For me, still missing page turns with what appear to be the same frequency. I have also experienced the "double click" of the enter button.
Still too early to tell about battery life...... -Jeff |

I've done the firmware update.
Now, do I have to leave that file in the root directory of my SD card? |

The new firmware seems to have improved saving the last read page when the battery level drops to zero: whereas in the previous firmware versions it would jump back a good 100 page turns or so, with the new firmware, it only jumped back to the last saved position. (And yes, I'm way too lazy to add bookmarks every couple of page turns )
