Open the Scribd app, and try to play an audiobook.
When the app crashes, reopen it right away, and go to "My Profile".
From "My Profile", tap on the little gear icon in the top right corner of the screen - this is the "Settings" Page.
From the "Settings" page, click on "FAQ & Support". On the next page, "Email Customer Support"

Got it, will do it in a bit, my poor fire just died from lack of battery juice.

Odd though that monkey's would work when I have the same year fire, just the 8.9.

Your Fire has slightly better specs than mine. Maybe a do over is warranted?

After jumping back into this thread, I decided to give it a shot on my Fire after reading post 49. So I fetched the APK from my Nexus 4 and dropped into my Box account inside ES File Explorer. Then I opened Box on my Fire and downloaded the APK. I had audiobooks. No problems finding, playing, or downloading them.

Ok, I just did it all over again and now it works. I think I know what I did wrong. When I first go the new version, I didn't uninstall 3.6.2 first, I just clicked the apk from my drop box and told it to replace the app. This time I uninstalled 3.6.2 first after clearing cache and then went back to my drop box apk and installed and now I can listen wifi and download the audio.

It did not though sync with the audio part I already played on another device unfortunately. It started the book at the chapter 1, I am at chapter 7 already.

I have until mid February to play with this before billing kicks in. I seriously doubt that I'll renew, since this duplicates what my public libraries do for free.

That's because it uses Google Sync to sync with the google version. Once the other version comes out it will work right.

Don't forget this includes a ton of free ebooks to read. They have alot of books the libraries don't carry.

I only read on eink and their ebooks are not compatible with Kindle ereaders; but library books are.

Yeah, I am pretty much mostly going to use Scribd still for ebooks. There are many on there I can't get at my local library and of course I don't have to go on a waitlist. But its great for me to try out more audio books also. They aren't as enjoyable for me as ebooks, but I want to make them work. I am listening to a Heyer right now, Faro's daughter and its kind of nice. I am just a bit disconnected from audio books at the moment. I like that I can just pick something without worrying about checkout times and wait lists.

It's all about the narrator. You get a good voice actor and it can make even the most average story a five star. If you lose interest in the first or second chapter that narrator isn't for you. I'd find something else to listen to.

Who mentioned format shifting? I asked what format does Scribd use for their ebooks since they have an Android, iOS, and Kindle Fire apps. Plus, all their ebooks can be read on and some downloaded to a PC.
