Thanks Sparkle - Kobo did right by me w/ bad hardware in the past, and I had an RMA in my inbox 45 minutes after getting of the phone with CS, so I'm fairly confident it'll work out. Sort of an assumed risk when you're buying fresh hardware out-of-country, so I'll just have to be patient.

Honestly, I was surprised at Chapters' response, since I was repeating back what the website and my receipt stated were the Return policies. The first dodge CS tried was 'We don't accept hardware back due to the personal info on it.' I asked how that differed from accepting it in-store, and she had to put me on hold.

She did that a lot.

It'll work out eventually, and I still have my HD to see me through. Being a hardware junkie sometimes pays off.

I think that is pretty cruddy of Chapters really. I know some other people in the states on here have considered buying theirs from them too. I've even encouraged it due to my in store experiences with them always being good. I'm glad you've put your experience on here so others know a return will indeed have to go through Kobo. I'm sure all will go well with Kobo though. I hope you have your new one soon.

I placed my H2O order with Chapters this morning, and already I got a shipping confirmation. That was pretty quick. The process was much easier than I was imagining.

Thank you, I don't just "like" it, I love it! I don't think I've ever been as in love with an ebook reader since my first one (Sony PRS-300). Since then I've had a Kindle Touch and Kindle PW1 but none of them have ever incited such amazement from me every time I turn on the screen. I'm very happy with it, to say the least.

Sorry you're having trouble with yours but I'm glad Kobo seems to be stepping up. For what it's worth Kobo customer service has still been emailing me because I filled out their survey and gave them a low score for how my problem was resolved. They seem to be genuinely sorry about how my order was handled (no tracking number, shipped to wrong name/right address) and promised they'd look into the situation as they didn't "want this to become a common occurrence." I hope the return process goes smoothly for you and I hope your replacement quickly

I'd been wanting to get a Kobo since the Aura HD was released but was hesitant to because of their notorious customer service. So happy I finally made the switch though!

I ordered an H2O yesterday morning from Chapters/Indigo and I received email last night that it had shipped. However, there's no tracking information on the Indigo website when I look up the order. Anybody else who ordered from them: were you able to track your order online and how long did it take to receive your order? I'm in the USA. Thanks!

I ordered from them on Monday morning, and I didn't get a tracking number either. I found from a forum search that it was a common experience to not get a tracking number when ordering from the US. They sent me the shipping notification on Monday afternoon.

From what I've read, it seems to take only 2-3 days to reach the US. I'm expecting mine to come either today or tomorrow. I'll update here when it comes.

You can email them requesting tracking information. I received a reply within two hours.
