This is odd for me, because I've pre-ordered every single e-ink Kindle when it came out. Maybe I'm becoming more prudent with age,lol.

After reading the Voyage first impressions thread and pondering my choices, I decided to cancel my Voyage order and go with the PW2014 which should be here today. I just couldn't see that the Voyage was worth the price diff over the PW201, especially coming from the K3.

In a similar vein, I also just picked up a new iPad mini 2/32GB wifi. I don't see the value in the new mini 3 for $500 compared to the mini 2 at $350 and only getting another 32GB storage and a fingerprint scanner for that price diff.

That's not really similar though.

Apple only added a finger print scanner, the voyage improved the contrast and clarity of the screen (the most important component of an ereader).

You are correct about the spec diff between the PW2014 and the Voyage. But from the images I've seen posted here, some side-by-side, there appears to be very little difference in the presentation. Perhaps that's a by-product of transmitting the images over the 'net. I dunno.

I checked my local BB yesterday and they do not have a Voyage on display. Yet. So I have nothing else to compare to.

It's kind of hard to convey the differences over a picture..

As an owner of all three (pw 1 and 2, voyage, plus kobo Glo) - the clarity and contrast improvements are pretty noticeable.

I have a perfectly good PW1. For no reason I bought a Voyage at my local Best Buy. Ended up exchanging it twice and finally returning it and getting my money back. A total of three Voyages. Could not live with the darker top portion of the screen. Everything else about it is great. The contrast was the best thing they did. I'm back to my PW1 and feel much better now.
