I'm intrigued by his heretical notion that:

an editor should be able to bring out books in the formats, and on the timings, that make most sense for that book and that author.

(In reference to the case for publishing new authors electronically to start and later making print editions for those books that become popular, possibly doing hard cover last.)

Why, that would be like deciding whether to travel by foot, bicycle, automobile, bus, train, boat, or plane, depending on the parameters of the particular trip, rather than using an automobile for every trip, like God intended.
