I ordered one today even tho it said that they have 60 orders already, since the naeb store says that they are accepting orders for the 3rd order. Also it says that they are getting a MINIMUM of 60 units. If it was full, the store should have said that. I really hope I will get in on this order so I have something to read in the summer.

Hopefully they will be willing to mark the package as "gift" too.

RE: Latest order

Okay,

We face two problems...

1. We need to make sure we get enough orders ourselves to place - we've done that.
2. We need to make sure that there are enough in stock at Bookeen to receive *our* order - the units *are* there, but Bookeen's waiting for the softcovers. Those should be there by Monday.

Thus, with the time it'll probably take to get the paperwork processed (and waiting for an invoice from Bookeen; gotta love required paperwork to complete the international wire transfer that our bank wants), we've decided to start the wire transfer process so that Bookeen will have the money in hand when the softcovers arrive. Our fingers are crossed that there won't be any further delays.

Now for those who ordered just *after* our last order batch closed, your place in the line for *this* order is secure, but because of credit card processing requirements, your actual 'reserve' against your CC has lapsed, so you'll have to re-process the order on your card. This will take just a couple of minutes online and you'll be getting a notification letter from Jim (Penty).

Thank you for your patience.

BTW, does anyone want a spare battery? We've found a source that will cost only $15.95 (including S&H) so we really want to know if it would be worthwhile to order a couple hundred.

I would take a spare battery!

Although these things are supposed to last for a long while, there are times where I know I'll be gone from home for 2+ weeks, and having that little bit of insurance would be great, especially for that price.

I have an order in already (#284), so should I contact NAEB directly, or would that be something that could be added to my order. If it causes a delay, though, don't worry about it

Thanks!

Will the battery you found for the Cybook work with the new Netronix models? If so,I will want at least one.

The batteries are *EXACTLY* the batteries used in the Cybook - and the EB-100. All the Cybook batteries are made by HECELL.

And, no, we've not yet added them to the website. It's a possibility we're exploring.

I was under the impression that bookeen had indicated you would have received the new units by now, the dates indicated in the NAEB Store were that the units would arrive between the 9th and the 12th... it's now the 13th. Am I misunderstanding something... your post seems to indicate that the units are still at bookeen and that the paperwork is still being processed. If so, what's the real eta on the readers?

Yes, I'd purchase several spare batteries for that price.

Is there any need for a extra battery under normal use? I mean does the battery get worse and worse after repeated charges as old cell phone batteries used to get?

Will I get some kind of confirmation whether I got in on this order or not?

Thanks!

Yes, but I would wait for it to wear out rather than buying a second one now. The real reason to have a second one I think would be if you use the reader longer than the battery life on one charge and you can't get to a charger. Sort of like having two laptop batteries so you can get through an 8 hour day.

Don,

We'd like to think so as well, but Bookeen wasn't ready to ship to us. It happens when there's just ONE supplier for all e-ink displays in use and there are so many customers - as well as the manufacturer not expecting "quite" the demand caused by Kindle. Oh well.

Did you place an order? Did you get a confirmation number at that time? If so, you're definitely IN! If not, there may be some who, if their 'reserve' against their credit cards has expired, will choose to wait for the next round. We anticipate having a few 'extra' because of that. Probably no more than 10 out of this batch.

Hi Derek,

Could you please help me to clarify a question?

I have ordered one on May 15, and now it is almost a month.

And about a week or two ago, I've asked James that I don't want to reorder it again and help me to extend it, and he said no problem.

Is that still valid? Or could you please help me to convey it to James?

And yes, I would consider ordering several batteries for that price.

Thanks & Regards,
David

Yes! We got notice that the covers are due it by this Thursday or Friday! (And the money has been sent to them, so that step is crossed off. )
