If the price dropped before release, anyone who pre-ordered should have been charged the lower price, because Amazon don't charge you until the book is actually available.

They don't have a pre-order price guarantee on most Kindle books like they do for pbooks and movies. Strange I know.

For pbooks, there is the possibility of running out of stock. Absent an artificial limit, that can't happen with ebooks, so preordering those looks not worth it.

If this is really true, then what has happened to the vaunted customer centric focus?

OK, I got time to look into it.

It is a kindle edition that won't be released until September 9th. The editorial review says it has 11 audi CDs, so Amazon must be about to release a Kindle with a CD drive. ( )
