Probably not, as Amazon will sell me the same magazine without a murmur (Analog at least). It's weird. If it's a rights issue, why would Amazon sell them en not B&N and Kobo? They are all US companies (well, Amazon and B&N at least; not so sure about Kobo, being a Rakuten company).

Quite right. I didn't know that Amazon could sell them to you. In that case it's just something wrong at B&N/Kobo. Have you tried emailing them about it?

No, I haven't; perhaps I should. See what they say.

Edit: Mail sent, including the question that when it is a rights issue, why Amazon does sell them to me. We'll see what develops...

To respond to my own mail (bad form, I know ): after some back-and-forth with Kobo, it turns out Kobo won't sell them in the Netherlands, any more than B&N does.

Why Amazon will sell them? Beats me.

Edit: and yes, they claim it's a rights issue.
