Actually i'm just delighted with the PW2 as it is. The MYK page on the other hand is a different tale, but this thread's about devices and all I'd like to tweak is the contrast. Although even there, it may be just that I need new glasses.
The PW2 i have now replaced the first one I bought which was a tad blotchy. This one's a peach, totally even, nice light sepia. Lovely. I do regret not buying the 3G 'tho. I have absolutely no idea why, which is why I didn't let myself spring for it. But I still wish I had, something about being eternally linked to your cloud collection and wikiP which is akin to a comfort blanket. Regarding the software up date and the collections thing, personally, for us at home it works. And I'm even growing used to greyed out titles in my collections - I only have collections view and file as soon as I buy. It gives me a clear idea of what I have on the cloud - I'm constantly reminded of what goodies are yet to be read. Having them unassigned made it hard to see in my mind's eye what I had (I don't content manage in calibre, love it for conversion). But yeah, it would be nice to be able to turn that view on and off. So, nothing really: very, very happy customer here. |

Not everyone is getting it, as they seem to be rolling it out in batches and switching people around randomly. But from the reports I've heard (I'm not one of the lucky ones) it looks really good. |

I'm very happy with the Paperwhite. There's nothing about the reading experience I'd like them to change. It's just right as it is.
What I would like is an optional mode for automatic wireless. When I set that mode Wifi and 3G will be off but when they're needed they'll come on by themselves and when I'm done with them they'll turn off. I don't want to have to think about this anymore. I'd also like sync to be automatic, every time I turn the page. I don't want to have to think about that either. I read on my Paperwhite and on a portable phone-like device that lives in my shirt pocket if I'm away from home. I'm 73 and my memory isn't up to par and I often am out and away and go to read and find I haven't synced so I have to search for where I read last. I nearly always do that without much problem but it's a pain and I'd much rather it just did it for me. However, I think the most important thing they can do is not improve too much. They have it right. The Paperwhite is what an ereader should be just as it is and rather than do those things I just mentioned and keep adding other stuff other people want, I'd like to see them leave it alone. Maybe come out with a new and different model but change the Paperwhite's name to Paperwhite Perennial, or some such. It ain't broke so don't fix it. Well, there is one thing I really wish they'd do, but only if they can do it without increasing the size or weight or reducing battery life. They can have a pop-out inflatable recliner so I can read comfortably wherever I might be. ![]() Barry |

I do have this feeling my paperwhite has a limited life. It just gives me the impression it will just stop working within a year or so. I had to do 4 factory resets in the first 4 weeks I had it. It just gave me a bad vibe. It will be a year old in April.
There is nothing beyond the feeling this one is a lemon that would make me go out and update, except a major improvement in battery life and or weight. I feel the battery life is shocking compaired to the touch. Plus with disabilities making it lighter would be fantastic. I doubt we will see either of these for at least 3 years. applesauce |

I find I do very little reading in low light and when I do my ipad suffices in fact I prefer night mode to reading on my Paperwhite, so I'm looking to go back to the basic Kindle which I found to be sharper overall

I find it to be excellent right now - the PW2 has hit the sweet spot for me. The small tweets I'd like are always having a real page number, and seeing the time on the screen
My big ask would be the ability to organize my collections via a web-page, as it would be much faster than organizing the books on the kindle. |

I really really like the button on the side of the K4NT. I can just rest my thumb on the button, and gently push down when I want to advance a page. Yes, touch screens are nice for other things, but for page turning I just love the buttons on the edge.

More memory. 16G at least. Why not? Memory is cheap.
And/or SD card. Better file management. Search and sort by tags. Page turn buttons on each side. Better for one handed reading. Option of cover for screensaver. Collections in Manage My Kindle that show both in my home page and in my archive. |

All devices have a limited life. If nothing else, they're limited by the lifespan of a lithium polymer battery, which is typically around 5 years. I would guess, though, that few of us are likely to keep an eInk reader that long; the technology is evolving too quickly.

Not necessarily in the spirit of the op, but...
I would like to a small wireless remote with a single button that can be used to turn pages. |

More font options.
I'm happy with battery life but I'd always love more. |

Oh, I HEARTILY second this. It would be great for people with all sorts of disabilities. And it should be user-replaceable or at least come in a choice of sizes/pressures-required.
