No nothing is on the app. I just installed and let it sit by itself it's now at 1.27GB
I like to see where all these files are but so far I haven't found it.

Since you have no eBooks or documents on the unit, then the best bet is to exchange it for another unit. Contact the seller and make the exchange.

If others had posted in this thread the same experience, then it could have been the app or the firmware. Since no one has posted similar problems, the unit must be defective. Its possible the unit was infected by a virus.

If you purchased the unit from Amazon, you will have a new unit by tomorrow and they will issue a label for the return.

Brian has the same problem. The Nexus 7 is not defected it's the app that is broken. Have you even read any of the reviews on it? Alot of people can't even get it to open or are missing books it's constantly force closing wont let them log in....the problems go on and on since the December 13 update.

All other apps behave as it's suppose to it's the Kindle app that is broken. I submitted a bug report and I will wait to hear back from Amazon.

Uninstall the Kindle app.

Then uninstall the Kindle reading app and use another app to read your eBooks. There must be plenty of choices out there.

If Amazon recognizes the problem and then fixes the app, you can always re-install it at that time.

Speaking of which, I thought it was rather odd that after I installed the 4.3.0.44 update the app made me log in again. I don't recall ever having to re-log in after an update before. I haven't played around with it much to see if any books/docs are missing.

Yeah everyone has to do that. Some can't even log in. The newest version fixed the choppiness it seems stable now if they can just fix the growing issue. Time Left to Read is still broken though.

Here's the odd thing you stay log in now even if you uninstall and reinstall or clear the data app it still remembers you!

Mine just updated to 4.3.0.44 and -- while I didn't have to log in again -- a number of books that were on the device disappeared, including the one I'm currently reading. Looking at the archive, a number of my uploaded books can't be found.

I'm going to clear data, sync everything, and see what happens.

(I'm running Android 4.2.2 on a Droid Maxx, BTW)

UPDATE: Still screwy. So, I removed my Amazon account from the device via Android settings. Then went to the Kindle app, where it asked me for my login information once again...and things seem to be back to normal. I shall see...

Let it run for awhile it seems syncing takes a long time even if it says it's done it's not. Mine seems to finally capped I hope. It's 1.24GB which is much better than 3GB from the previous versions.

Yeah, that's the plan. I'll also check on the data usage -- mine has never been nearly that large, even with a good number of books on the device (and about 1500 in my Amazon "cloud").

If this is a new design to take up that much space people on phones are going to hate it. I could see 500MB but over 1GB is crazy!

I've had mine running since I got up and found the new update.

One or two Gb of usage may be normal usage with your particular configuration on the Nexus 7 2013 combined with whatever else you have on there.

Logos Bible apps could use up to 5 Gb depending on how many resources one loads on to the device. That is why 32 Gb memory is really required for all these tablets. By next year we may need 128 Gb just to survive. The apps will be growing in their disk space needs.

Most smart phones have SD slots to build up memory capacity as well.

My PC has 3 Tb of disk space and my external hard disk also has 3 Tb. My SSD has 1 Tb.

My Desktop has 630GB, My externals are 500GB, 1TB and 3TB but my phone is 180MB and my new labtop just bought has 750GB so not much change software wise it seems since 2007.

No other app I have takes up more than 80MB. Kindle app is taking up 1.27GB!!! The Nexus only has 9GB available to began with. This is crazy.

I wonder how big is your Archive? I am starting to think it's downloading the whole library somewhere! I can't find it though I've looked and looked.
