I'm quite curious about this new Kindle. Amazon has changed the ebook reader market a lot, I'm sure they developed something interesting if they are planning to release it that fast.

My K2 battery is slowly dying and it's the only e-ink reader I've got at this point so I'll probably be in the market for one about next spring...

Even if you upgrade the reader, there are plenty of guides around on how to replace the battery.

We will know for sure in 6 months. I'm guessing, but I think we will see new Paperwhites every Spring and new Fires every Fall. Right now Paperwhites and Fires compete with each other in the Fall. Not too many customers would buy a new Paperwhite and a new Fire within a month of each other.

It would simply be good marketing strategy to split their introductions by 6 months.
