That's because OLED doesn't have a backlight, of course - the actual pixels themselves emit light. But are there any OLED tablets currently on the market?

The disadvantage of OLED is that - last time I investigated it, at least - it had a significantly higher power consumption than LCD.

Shorter lifetime, too.
Although OLED devices haven't been around long enough to nail down the extent of the issue.

Samsung made an OLED android tablet back in 2011 but since it was an Android 3.x tablet nobody noticed.
