I second the calibre Companion app.
Also, the Mantano Premium reading app for Android allows you to create collections. |

I use a rooted Nook STR which runs lots of Android apps and has an e-ink display.

What I have gotten into the habit of doing is if I have a series in Calibre I will number them so that I read them in the proper order. The Aldiko can put them in order by author so that once they are properly ordered, reading them is easy no matter what order any ereader software puts them in.
All my books get sent to Calibre, then copied to my Sony reader software. Then also get copied over to my T1 & to my Samsung & Nexus. Last edited by cfrizz; 06-29-2013 at 11:38 AM. |

Marvin will as long as the ePub is without DRM. There is also Bluefire Reader. Both for the iPad.

Well since I finally figured out how to add the font of my choice to Mantano Essentials, I will give reading on my Fire HD another try. I like the 2 page layout in landscape.

Personally, I prefer e-readers.
I have a 10' tablet (ASUS TF300) and I've read a few books in it, but I can never read for more than 30 min~1h at a time because my eyes get tired. I used to think that I didn't need an e-reader if I had a tablet that could do the same thing, but when I first tried my brother's kindle my opinion completely changed. It's so much easy on the eyes and it's like reading a real book. I bought a Kobo Aura a few weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. I still use my tablet a lot (it serves as a personal laptop, basically) but I use my e-reader just as much when I want to read. Plus, e-readers are much more portable - I always take my Kobo to work now and I never took my tablet because it was too big and too expensive. 6'~7' screens also seem to be the best for reading, in my opinion. EDIT: By the way, when I used to read on my tablet I tried pretty much every ebook app available and the best I could find was Aldiko (I got the premium version after trying the free one). Fabrik also has a lot of potencial, but it still has a few problems (slow to load, lag, requires you to be always online, doesn't let you change covers, etc.). EDIT2: Almost forgot, being able to read outside in the sun and the much longer battery life are also important factors. Last edited by alexep; 06-29-2013 at 03:48 PM. |

I'm finding I tend to choose my reading device to fit the circumstances. Outside reading - e-ink devices, well-lit indoor reading - either e-ink or LED devices depending on whether I intend to play games also, at night in bed - LED device (don't have to fool around with a clip on light, leaving the room light on, or angling a desk lamp to shine on the reader). Ereaders: The new designer accessory. ![]() |

My e-reader is a Kindle Paperwhite
My Tablet is an iPad. If I am reading for long periods of time (which is rare) I use my Paperwhite. Also, if I am going to be say some place like a doctor's office and it's pre-meditated I use my Paperwhite. Much smaller and definitely portable. If I am just reading articles or say fanfiction I use my iPad. Also it depends on which device is charged lol |

Err, no. I read this thread when it started and went on to experiment with my 7" novo. I thought I might as well try since others swear by it, so dowloaded various apps and, no. It just doesn't do it for me. And tablet doesn't smell like ereader, if you know what I mean
![]() btw, there are ereaders which won't allow to make collections on the device, Cybooks for example. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'd bet Pocketbook and Onyx would be the same. |

Wow. As if it wasn't bad enough that we have people craving the smell of books, now there are those of use that crave the smell of ebooks. |
