, was a bit exaggerated I admit, but even if we don't need to redefine it, Kobo's software still falls under the category.

Went back to 2.5.1., Glo kept freezing (reboot with pin required), responsiveness was worst since I bought it(tapping average 3 per item), and battery usage was affected negatively by the fw.

Pretty embarrassing for an almost single purpose gadget.

Moving back to 2.5.1 means I will not be testing 2.6.1 anymore.

I'm sorry, but I like to use my reader mostly for reading. I'm not about to become a betatester for Kobo.
2.5.1 has a few hickups of it's own but it doesn't interfere with the way I use my reader.

Greetings,

Mike.

Hi Mike, seems that you have some experiences with UI design and some good ideas.

A suggestion: Would you like to draw some mock-ups of what could be a better Home page for our Kobo? Publish it in the forum to collect feedback and improve it. Could be awesome no?

Two vertical inches lost. Who's idea was that? It's time to start firing some of the Kobo staff especially the ones who thought that two inches was a good idea.

Interesting to put it mildly. I was looking at an Aura and Glo. It would appear that the Touch is becoming the red headed stepchild.

Umm... perhaps you should take another look at the images. Please note the measurements are in cm. not inches. Either that or Anak has a Touch with a 15 inch screen.

I think it is centimetres, my Aura is not even close to 12 inches vertically.

I just wanted to know where Anak purchased that Touch with the 15" screen so I could get one.

In the interests of facts. With fw v2.6.1, I measure vertical height available for text as:
Kobo Glo: 10.6cm from a total of 12.2cm
Kobo Aura: 12.1cm from a total of 13.7cm

Yep, just to confirm: it's in cm.

Could the problem here be that there are three different devices that all use the same firmware but do need some additional, minor device specific tweaks? And Kobo forgot tot tweak the Touch? Or maybe not three different devices but two different firmwares?

BTW, I have an "old" Touch (N905). I'm just wondering if the new Touch (N905B or N905C models) give similar results.

That is an interesting question. Anyone reading this who has a new Touch and would care to share the top margin measurements?

How do you find out which model you have? I have a touch but no idea if it's "new" or "old".

If I'm correct, next to the usb port there is some FCC information. The model number/version is mentioned there. That's what I've been told. My old Touch model is N905.

Not being used to CM, I thought it was inches. My mistake.

Hi Fred,

It could, but only if Kobo would actually use it.
I'm not going to spend my time on a mock-up if it will for ever stay a mock-up.

Hope you understand.
