Irrational number of books on shelves have been popping up, same shelves, no metadata changed, can sync totally, can have any less number of books than total. Anyone noticed anything similar?
When you change the shelves in calibre, they should update on the device at the next connect. And when you send a book, the shelving should be set up. I emphasis "should" as I have no delusions that my code is bug free.

If this isn't happening, I would like a debug log to look at. To do this:

- Open the driver configuration and put something in the "Title to test when debugging field". This should be part of a title of a book that is not getting its shelf set or you are about to send. Doing this adds debug messages to the log when the driver handles the book.
- Save the changes but don't bother restarting calibre
- Right click on the Preference button and select "Restart in debug mode". Calibre will restart and display a message about debug mode and a log file.
- Connect the device. Wait until the connecting jobs finished.
- If you need to send a book, do it now.
- When that is finished, close calibre.
- The debug log will be displayed. Post or PM me the contents of the log.

Hopefully, from the log I will be able to see what is wrong.

Wonderful news! I've been getting this shelf off and on for a week, but now... when I got Calibre in debugging mode- not a book out of line. I guess I've experienced magic touchThank you.
I'd keep the log instructions just in case anything wants to misbehave.

It always works when the repairman is looking over your shoulder

Yes, if you see something tell me. Any sort of pattern is useful.

Are you sure breaking theonna's shelves, just so you can restore them and help out is the best way to convince him there is no need for a file browser?

Pfft, I am perfectly capable of breaking my own shelves....
And since I disabled extended driver, I can play with them by far faster. Couple more hours with Calibre... and I get to noob +1 level.

Out of curiosity has anyone else noticed there seems to be a refreshed version of 2.6.1? I did another of my series of factory resets and noticed the sync seems to have provided a newer version of 2.6.1. Last time out, the software version showed a 2013-June-06 date, now it shows a 2013-June-17 date.

The sideload link has not changed, the file name is the same, the contents have changed.

Regards,
David

Yes, the old build number was 0a76252e22, the new build number is 55e7f0d3f0.

I've noted a couple of new items in the nxt508 directory for an E606F0 and a E606F0B. The phoenix rises?

So far, I'm just taking a look and seeing which of the various files have changed in the main archive. The sheer joy of it. Much like watching your toenails grow.

David

The new version looks like it is just the Glo/Aura/Mini firmware. The Touch firmware is the same sized file.

It only appears in the Dutch translation. Switched to English to check, and it was correctly spelled.

I will start a new thread with my gripes with this FW and the Kobo UI in general.

I read why you prefer it not in this thread, and it confirms my view on Kobo's UI. Pretty sad a good hardware product like the Glo is degraded so much by the software developers.

See you maybe in my thread.

I just tried switching changing the interface language to Nederlands and turning Reading Life off. When I open Reading Life, then Leesstatistieken, the grey box at the bottom says "Reading Life instellingen".

Where precisely did you see the spelling error?

FW 2.6.1 2013-June-17.

David

The bug with PNG images in regular EPUB files (not KEPUB files) appears to be solved with 2.6.1b (the one with release date 2013-06-17).

I am new to this forum, but active user of the Kobo Glo

After the last upgrade (to 2.6.1b) i noticed the following and was wondering if others can confirm or if it is just me:

When I open a sideloaded epub, i can't change the font. If I open a kebup I can change the font.
I was able to change also the fonts of my sideloaded one until this firmware version.

Unless my epub becomes a kepub in the process of sideloading I can still change the fonts.
