While my Clip Zip is my primary audiobook device, I do load WMA audiobooks from the library onto my iPod touch 4. |

Unlike the other poster, I never put these in a case. I carry them either in my pocket or a bag pocket. I'd only use a case if I were worried about them getting wet. |

+1 for the Sansa Clip. Awesome little player, great sound. I listen to mine on the way to work (when I'm not readin my Kindle) and I also use it while running. My original Clip (not +) is starting to get a bit dodgy and I'm going to replace it with another Clip.
A tip: If you're in the EU set it to US otherwise you will get the stupid volume lever limit. I used RockBox for a while (pretty cool running Doom!) but I went back to the original firmware as I found the controls non-intuative. I use it while running so I need to change tracks etc without stopping to look at the screen. |

One question for those using the Zip with Overdrive: Does it have an internal calendar that expires library books? I've been using an old Muvo (on its last legs, unfortunately) and it's nice because it won't delete my expired audiobooks until I plug it into my computer. If I'm a few days late finishing an audiobook, I can keep listening as long as I don't hook it to the Overdrive software. Does anyone know if the Zip functions the same way?

Oh, good to know. I have an audio book on my Clip Zip that I'm still "reading" after the library expiration date, but I thought adding another audio book from Overdrive would render it unplayable.

You will be able to still listen to it. You can say the Clips use the honor system. The book will play till you delete it.

Picked up the Zip at Costco over the weekend. That is one slick little device! (And I do mean little -- the online pics I found didn't do its small size justice.) Now to load it up with library and Audible books...

Books added to Music thru Overdrive
When I add library books through Overdrive to my little ipod, the books show up under Audiobooks. When adding library books through Overdrive to the Clip Zip, the books show up under "Music" rather than "Audiobooks". Any idea if there is a setting to correct this? It's hard to have both music and books under music if you use the shuffle feature. I don't like this feature of the Clip.
I don't think it's as easy to find where you were in a book after changing books. I don't think there is a bookmark feature. Do others find this an issue? Thanks. Mary |

The clip remembers the last place played on each Audiobook but there isn't a bookmark feature. If you remove your SD Card or upgrade firmware you will lose all your places in your books. If you put audiobooks in the Music folder the genre must read audiobook on the tag or it wont work as an audiobook. Audiobooks in the audiobooks folder do not need the genre field changed. I'm another one to give the Sansa Clip Zip some free advertising. I keep audiobooks on the device's internal storage (I don't have many of them) and music on a microSD card. There's no delay at all when accessing files in the microSD card. Everything flows beautifully, it's so small and light, extremely intuitive controls, the clip is firm and secure, and it's a genuinely cute little device. It's definitely the best portable audio device currently around in terms of value-for-money. I love the ease of the drag-and-drop, and I love that when I took it out of the box, I plugged it into the computer and was ready to go immediately.

Is that for Windows only? Or is there a way to play OverDrive WMA audiobooks on a Mac iPod?
