Here's something new: "The Fifth Avenue Series Boxed Set," located here

http://www.amazon.com/Fifth-Avenue-B..._sim_kstore_19

It looks like a contemporary novel-type series fashioned as thrillers.

Has anyone read these?

No, but the author is one I recognize from the Amazon discussion boards as having gotten into a week-long multi-thread fight with the regular forum-goers over a reader's comment about his book and doing a rather spectacular flounce and backbiting whine about it when he "lost".

Here's something you'll probably like:

CRYPT TALES-9 Scary Stories by Billie Sue Mosiman

Admittedly, it's more a collection of short stories than an omnibus (though the cover packages it like a "boxed set"), but it's from a Stoker/Edgar-nominated author who, to the best of my knowledge, is much better behaved.

Thank you for the information on Billie Sue Mosiman, which I've now downloaded.

It's unfortunate about the author of the "Avenue" series. Being a narcissistic jerk and/or spammer is a clear label that earmarks an author for amateur status. (As a Moderator here, I have first-hand experience on this issue.)

However, I'll give them a read.

Seven glowing reviews for this boxed set, all 5 stars. Hmmmm.......

In the meantime it appears as if the Fifth Avenue, the book that sparked the "controversy" is now titled "Fifth Avenue (The Controversial Top 100 Best-Seller)." Perhaps throwing hissy fits and whining can pay off......

I do think I'll check out the Mosiman though. Thanks.

The stories are fine, it's the production I have problems with. Yet another indie short story collection with no active table of contents. If Mosiman can't be bothered with presenting her stories properly, I can't be bothered to read them.

TWO treats today:

1) Gary Brandner's "The Howling Trilogy," (not a boxed set, but three separate novels in one file), located here:

http://www.amazon.com/The-Howling-Tr...N%3DB0071EEIM4

If you missed it the first time, now is your chance to get it.

2) If you like zombies - then this one should be a satisfying read:

"Best New Zombie Tales Trilogy Vols 1, 2, 3" - located here:

http://www.amazon.com/Best-Zombie-Ta...=AG56TWVU5XWC2

Have fun, but if you step on a zombie part, don't blame me.

Don

I am very sorry about the lack of a linked Table of Contents. It has now been rectified and no collection or boxed set from me will ever go without one now. You may delete your copy of CRYPT TALES-9 Scary Stories and download it again from the Kindle Cloud and it will have an active table of contents. Please forgive me for not doing that to begin with. It will never happen again. If you cannot get a corrected copy, email me at billiemosiman@gmail.com and I will send you one.

Here you go, you sicko horror junkies (and that includes me!). For your infernal enjoyment, I present "The Bullied Series Boxed Set," consisting of four novels and located here:

http://www.amazon.com/The-Bullied-Se...0691415&sr=1-1

[The above should be a clean link]

I don't know if these are any good. These could be nothing more than mindless pap, horribly written, full of tipos [sic], and no proffreading [sic].

...or they might be enjoyable.

I have no idea whatsoever.

Thanks Don. I had picked up the first two books but this had not shown up in the daily freebies. Now, how to find time to read them :-)

While creating a multi-level toc and epub for this book, I noticed that Chapter 32 is missing....is this a typo or is it really missing??
