I used to keep all my books on my first couple of Kindles, but on my Fire I keep most of the Kindle books on Amazon's servers and download as needed. I also keep about 15-20 epub books in the Aldiko app, and keep my other epubs in Dropbox where I can get to them easily should the need arise.

I kept a lot on my Kobo but with my new IRiver HD I still haven't managed to completely choke it up with books yet! There is a slight slowing of both these devices when they are full of books so this time I am going to limit my selection to no more than 200 books or magazines at a time. Even for a bookaholic like me that should be enough. Also I now have access to ebooks from our library so only keep these for 2 weeks.

My PRS-300 has about 20 books on it while my PRS-505 has a whopping 7. I don't like having too many books on my readers because I get too overwhelmed while deciding what to read next if I have hundreds of books at my fingertips.

I keep pretty much everything on my DX and my K3. Collections make it easy enough to sort what I have so that I can find what I want. I only have 400 books so it is not as crowded as some of your devices.

I delete the ones I didn't like. Other than that, I keep all of them on my reader.

I have around 200 books on each of my devices, but will put some of them on sd or remove them if either my Kobo or Kindle start to slow down.

I should have read it that way. My (reading) device is incapable of holding my entire library. So I guess my device of choice is my external backup hard drive.

The easiest way for me to keep track of what I read is to have it on the ereader and then delete it when it is read. Good poll!

I wouldn't have room to fit all the 2000+ publisher-promo official freebies from Amazon alone on the 1.4 available GB that came with my Kindle 2. Nor would I particularly want to carry around copies of most of those titles anyway, which I have no intention of reading but get purely to satisfy the hoarding-acquisition urges.

But I am trying to at least put on the Kindle a significant portion of the unread books I've actually paid for, if only so that I get around to reading them someday.

Even assuming my cheapskate self paid as little as $2 per book on average, I still estimate I only have a low-to-mid few hundred which should easily fit, as long as I use the tightest compression settings when converting from ePub to Mobi.

I keep the next handful of books I'm going to read, plus a few reference materials on my PRS-500. Generally once it's read it goes off the reader. A large percentage of what I read comes from the library, so keeping isn't really an option anyway. But what I buy does get saved in Calibre.

I pretty much delete after reading. I may keep a few ones that I may read again in the future. Classics or books that made a serious impression on me.

My digital collection is pretty manageable - a little over 1000 books - but I manage my library with Calibre (of course!), keeping only unread items on my devices (Nook 1st ed and Pandigital SuperNova Tablet). I'd say there are about 650 mirrored on both devices now. On the Nook, I keep all the "books" in the main storage and use an SD card for audio files. On the tablet, I've been putting everything on an SD card. The Calibre content server, in combination with Aldiko, has been a godsend! Can I just say... I love Kovid Goyal! <3

For ebooks, yes. I store them in my reader, because I like to have my selection of ebooks with me for who knows what reason. Or maybe it's because I'm too lazy to sinc everytime I want to replace a book.

But for my entire library, no. I'm one of those people who am still extremely proud of my pbook library. I refuse to throw any of them away even with the whole e-readers craze.
