No, it will be nearly instant. It would only load files from cache.xml. And those would be only the ones that you've opened.

Just make sure to delete old "cache" if it is there (Sony Reader folder) so that it doesn't load previously scanned books.

i had a problem installing prs+ alternative firmware for my prs 600..
i already install the base image of the reader.. to 1.0.01.08040

i dont understand the second part of installation

2) Install the update
2.1) Unpack PRSPInstaller folder from this archive to the root of the internal memory of the reader.
2.2) Restart the reader (there is no installer UI), installer will do all necessary steps during startap (invisible to the user, takes a couple of seconds).
2.3) Delete PRSPInstaller folder from internal memory (if it is still there

where is the root of the internal memory ? at the partition of LAUNCHER: or the removable disk ?

and if in removable disk: which folder should i put in ?

i copied the file inside the folder PRSPInstaller which is data, prsp, and installer.sh to folder..

Removable disk\Database\cache
Removable disk\Database\media\notepad
Removable disk\Database\sync

and restarted it.. but nothing happened

im trying to format the device again and start to reinstall the alternative firmware.. but it dont have any effect..

i really need your help guys..

root is the base directory.. like G: or F: or whatever, not in another folder inside the reader directory.

There is no video for 300,505,350,650,950 models, but they are also supported.

FOr the x50 series, the reason that pushed me to go to it, was the ability to control which books show on the Home page. You can show the next books by that author, the next books in the series, recently opened books, recently added books (default), or random books. That's PRS+ for me:

You very quick can swith off the touch-screen-paging-functionality (usefull outdoors when sitting under a tree with needles falling down or insects switching pages)
Altering font sizes, fonts and page margings without altering the book before loading it onto the reader
Standby mode showing actual page of the book (usefull when starring long time on the same page of a book with let's say formulas)
Asign page forward function to annother button
Having list of authors and notes on the home page of the reader
Having the possibility to use folder structures for books
Using simple scrolling in zoomed PDF's without visible scollbars
Having last opened book on the home page
Visible reading progress below thumbs of books on the home page

just got my T1 and as much as I like it, I do miss some features of PRS+. Especially the possibility to have the last read books shown on home screen (instead of newly added) is a godsend.
I rooted the T1 almost first thing after unpacking. It's cool. I'm very grateful to porkopan for the great job done so quickly. Still. I do hope, that someone eventually will pick up from there and implement little modifications to the UI, which make this device even better.
