My PEz had most of the features I wanted and None I hated.
Some could be better

I still have not found a replacement (not needed yet)

Poor long term customer support record would kill the sale.
The retail marketplace is full of "1 batch", cheap readers. There won't be a second run. There probably will never be an FW update/bug fix released

I absolutely will not buy a white ereader; unless the company throws in a free black matte skin to cover up all of the white.

My list of no-nos:
1. LCD screen - If I wanted LCD I would buy a tablet.
2. No support for ePub - my entire library is in ePub.
3. Content buying limitation - I don't want to be limited to content in your store.
4. Short battery life.

what's the problem with white? It looks beautiful, despite I guess quickly getting dirt...

I guess most people here have a problem with it because the white makes the e ink screen look gray and because black looks more like traditional hardcover books...

It's so odd, but I find black, particularly shiny black, far more glaring than white for some reason. I don't find white glaring at all -- I loved the N1 casing.

I don't mind the Kindle graphite gray, though.

An exorbitant price. It's to one thing guaranteed to make the device invisible to mine eyes. It's one big reason e-readers had not existed for me before last year.

And then the price started going down and I snagged the one that was cheapest, most accessible and (yes proof that evil advertising works) the one I had heard most about.

I don't like white because I think it looks cheap. But that's just a matter of taste.

For me the biggest turn off is a price tag that's too high. No one ereader is going to be perfect for everyone I'm sure, but the biggest turn off is a price that's too high for me to be able to afford. Being too heavy or overly large would be another minus. I believe an ereader should be convenient not only in that it allows you a variety of reading materials, but that it doesn't weigh too much to be able to easily carry around. On cool days I wear a light jacket and carry my Kindle 3 in one of the pockets and it weighs so little that sometimes I almost forget it's there.

2) USB cable for transferring files

I know many public library systems require both, but that's the only reason I would tolerate these two.

Also, lack of 3G (pref. international 3G) is a deal-breaker.
Also, touch-screen keyboard.

Guess you can see why I settled on the reader I settled on
