I've been following another thread (in the Writer's corner "Is it the cover or content that sells a book?" In that regard this is an interesting study. It seems there are a lot of fashionably offended people here, but they're here. Beyond hermes' humor, I'm not sure what a "Straight Men's" genre would contain or what it wouldn't, but it might not be any more mind-numbingly limited than Christian or Gay or Women's or Ethnic or etc. I try to write in the melting-pot non-genre, but it's become apparent marketing-wise that I need to attach to one of these divisive little categories, so I try to follow such conversations. Maybe it'll help me figure out how to make millions, and that’s all I really want.

Caleb72, yes, if I actually invented the term, which to my knowledge is possible, I hereby release all copyright of "fashionably offended" to free use for the greater benefit of mankind.

Now that right there is karma, I don't care what anyone says.

well I'm hetero female and read a lot of military history, sci-fi, and adventure, on my Kindle and not upside down either. I also won't touch romance or twinkling paranormal vampire shape changing weirdness with my worst enemies nook, so who knows what that makes me

Note to self: "Stop carrying your e-reader hanging off a belt clip".

I have to admit, though, using a staple gun to pi it on is a teensy bit too macho for me ...

I suppose I must add that my gay husband doesn't read much long-form stuff ... books or ebooks or newspapers ... but he reads a lot online.

Me? I fell in love with ebooks when I good an ereader because it makes it so easy and fun to read for pure entertainment which, for me, is mainly mysteries and crime fiction, with a little literary stuff and a bit of gay romance on the side.

But my paper library is all philosophy, theatre, music, history and some sexual politics. The husband has a few diet and exercise books.

What was the reason for only having a paper library filled with what I consider boring non pleasure reading material, when you obviously enjoy entertainment books for your reader? Why the big difference between the two libraries?
