We don't HAVE direct sunlight in Seattle. Or very rarely. When we do I like to sit in the sun and read. Since I'm usually still wearing a parka in May heat is not an issue.

My problem as I always state in this forum is that I had the bad luck and sense of buying a SONY reader... which (I hope they fixed their problems by now!) came with a faulty e-ink screen that "dissolves" the image when exposed to direct lighting ... hence, I cannot read in direct sunlight, because pages "fly away". GRRRRrr.r...r
It wasn't just Sony. LG was also making eink screens and made them defective so hey faded in direct sunlight. Should have called Sony and gotten it replaced.

If the sun is out and the kids are in the yard I will be in the sun reading, especially since the winters here are long and dark...

I like going for really long walks, even in the city. Our lakefront is mostly public areas and parks, museums, nature areas, even a public zoo. I *always* take my reader with and find some good spots to just sit and read for awhile, so I read quite often out in the sun and I love it. The e-ink display is very crisp and sharp in the sun, very easy and comfortable for reading.
