To tell you the truth Jobs is the reason I steered clear of Apple for so long. I still don't like the guy. Why couldn't they have brought back Wozniak instead?

in order for a specific device to get a license for the apps, it must pass the Android Compatibility Test Suite and meet the Android Compatibility Definition.

Interestingly, the license allows Google to change the applicable Compatibility Test Suite and Android Compatibility Definition at will up until the time a device is certified for launch… by passing the CTS. So basically there’s nothing keeping Google from changing the CTS or ACD any way it wants in order to keep a particular device off the market.

With that logic then I suggest that you don't buy any computer tech of any nature... try checking out MS Win etc T&C or Android from Google or... About the safest option would be some open license linux stuff.

Of course nobody else would ever change things on users... what was that I heard, "Amazon... Kindle..."

So a better quote (reinforced by the worthy spread of MR paranoia) is I'll never own a product because whatever you do, "they've gotcha!"

Not by Apple. It's still just speculation at this point. If you had in app purchasing -- that's definitely going to incur the 30% spiff to Apple.

There has yet to be any announcement from Apple that a link to one's web store will also need to incur a payment to Apple. We're all waiting to see on that.

The worst that will come of this for Amazon is that they'll remove the link from their app. Their users will simply have to know to go buy the book from the web.

Like others have pointed out -- the Agency model actually ensures that small stores can compete with Amazon. Amazon was selling ebooks BELOW what the publishers were charging.

Sad, but that's what happens when you foolishly put all your eggs in one basket. Had they not decided to snub other platforms they'd probably been able to deal with Apple's BS and stay in business.

in my opinion basing your whole buisness on another buisness was Iflow's fault not apples. yes apple is evil (so is google & microsoft and any company you hate this week)

They could have done what other Reader companies have done. they could have made iflow compatible with more than IOS
here lets look

B&N reader app = nook for pc, nook for mac, nook for android, nook for ios, nook for Blackberry.

Kindle reader app = Kindle for pc, kindle for mac, kindle for blackberry,kindle for android, kindle for IOS.

Kobo reader app = kobo for IOS, kobo for Android, Kobo for Palm, Kobo for Black berry

Iflow reader app = IOS

Notice a patern here? none of these Apps & libraries relied on just one format to sell thier books. Iflow got forced out because they refused to work with other formats and had ALL thier eggs in one basket.
