I have never owned a colour printer, I work in the print industry so have always had access to the best colour printers. I have access to an Epson Stylus Pro 11880 now, anyone need wallpaper?

They can be used to print outdoor media (Billboards and signs) and indoor media, it really only depends on the substrate, this on has a 64 inch bed and can print 300 feet if needed.
They print amazingly well, the highest resolution (2880x1440 dpi) on this one is the same as the smaller epson Stylus printers, pretty good chance someone on MR has one sitting on their desk. I have run A4 size sheets through it a bunch of times. |

I've been a fan of Epson printers forever for my photography and artwork. I use a Epson Stylus Photo R280 at the moment. ![]() |

I have always been a Kodak fan and I was very disappointed when Kodak couldn't keep up with Epson. I the last few years Epson has pulled ahead and is starting to dominate the semi-pro and pro markets. For photography I would say go with any of the Stylus Pro's and if you can afford/justify go with one of the 8 ink models, the colour gamut with the extra inks makes all the world of difference when printing colour correct prints.
Because we were printing colour accurate proofs for print ads and the clients were paying for accurate reproducible on the press colour, we couldn't afford not to have the best printers. |

The bed size is 64 inches so you couldn't manage 2 A0 pages at once. There are larger bed sizes (Roll widths) but because the ideal situation is selling the greatest square units and minimizing the waste or cut off materials.

Bugger! I remember travelling an hour to get a colour proof to show a client @ $25 per A3(similar to twice US letter). That's an hour each way! Oh boy and then my first CD backup @ $500. 1994.

The last pricing I was doing here would give you any colour accurate proof up to A3 for RM25 less than $4 Aus/Cdn, and that was delivered within a 20km area. I have sent proofs to as far away as the US (silly buggers don't understand soft proofing).
