I haven't loaded them all yet, but I have many more than the one I'm currently reading. I like to have a good variety of books on there (few hundred) but I still like to be selective at the same time.

I load up a couple at a time, if I think I'm going to finish one quickly then I'll load another one on at the same time. If it's a short story, I usually will delete it after I'm done, but keep a backup on my PC. I think I've got about 38 books on my Nook, I haven't deleted anything on it yet so it includes about 10 novellas or short stories as well. The only one I haven't read on there is "Face of Betrayal" by Lis Wiehl, but I'm currently reading it, and will be done in the next couple hours.

I believe in being prepared in case of shipwreck on a desert island, or getting lost in the
Veteran's Affairs (VA) bureaucracy, to that end I have 7000+ ebooks on 2GB SD cards that work in all my devices.

Luck;

I currently only have my TBR list (ca. 400 books) on my Kindle, but I would like to have all my books on it (ca. 2000).

I haven't explored collections on the Kindle yet. It sounds like I should, as the main reason I only have by TBR list on there at the moment is to avoid re-reading.

An interesting thread.

IMO if the software on the portable device is good enough (to easily track read/unread and organise collections) everyone would want to keep all their ebooks to hand. It's only ever been hardware or software limitations that have prevented me from doing so.

I'm with you all the way Ken, I just need to work out a power source that will sustain me long enough to enjoy them all. At least with paper books we have alternative uses for them, I can't see my SD cards keeping the fire burning for a useful length of time.

While Photovoltaic panel (Solar Panels) are still impractical for supplying
the energy needs of a home/apartment, where you need ten kilowatts or
so, you only need milliwatts for PDAs and eReaders.

http://www.solarpaneltools.co.cc/sal...isc-B001QKWTCK

And you can get ones with their own battery so that you can have it
ready to recharge your device at a faster rate. OR if you had an
Ectaco Jetbook Lite (JBL) that can use rechargeable AA batteries, you
could use something like this:

Luck;
Ken

I keep all unread books on the Kindle. When I read, I delete. Eventually I hope to get my to-read pile down to a more manageable level and then I might start adding book completed books I may enjoy re-reading.

I sort them into collections by source (forum, library, smashwords etc.) unless I have more than a handful by a given author in which case those get their own collection.

As my inventory slowly builds, I'm strongly considering a new collection called "on deck" (from the baseball term for the next batter after the one currently at bat), a dozen or so carefully mixed by genre. I can't see myself going through more than 10 screens of thumbnails each time I need a new book.

On my NOOKColor I keep a shelf called "To Be Read" for the same purpose. I remove books after I read them and put them on another shelf that indicates the month/year I read the book.

I have my entire collection on my MacPro. I have an extra copy on CD or DVD filed away in my book box. I have most of my Amazon books on my K3 - the ones I've read - the free books I found not to my taste. My K3 has over 10 pages. My ipad has most of my non-Amazon books on it. In iBooks I have my EPUB (well in the hundreds) that I delete as I read. In Goodreader I have my PDF (currently about 100 items) also get deleted as I read except for things like work material and collection listings. In ARCreader I have some comics but I only load a few collections at a time (right now there are 77 issues). Backup time gets too long if I have too many comics and magazines on my iPad. I only have current months magazines which are about 8 subscriptions in Zinio or in their own private reader. I have about 100 books in Dropbox that I will have to sort through one day. I also have a few stand alone books like On the Grill (cookbook) and Elements.

Once I finish a book, I take it off the device and archive it. I do have the ones I've had yet to read on there though. I'm also one of those weirdos who sometimes reads more than one book at a time.

For example..right now I'm reading the second book in the Hunger Games series, and Lonesome Dove.

I have 12 or so on my Sony PRS-300 at any given time. I tried 50 or so titles when I first bought the device but found it cumbersome to go through page after page of title.
I keep unread books and a handful of favorites that I will or plan to reread in the near future.

Every time I purchase or download a new eBook, I load it in my reader then edit my "reading list" to add that title to the bottom of the list. Once I have read a book, I do not delete i usually: having a 2GB SD plus 500 MB of internal memory, I don't need to free up space yet. Beside, sometimes it happens that I want to re-check a book I have already read, for example when reading the sixth book of a series I may want to go back to the first book to check something, so it's nice to have them still in my reader.

I don't have everyone, because they won't fit. I do however have a selection. If I had one what would I do if I finishednit, halfway through the day or week, when I'm away from home. Many hours or days before I coud load the next one on.
