owwww!

Lucky Mr M actually understands that if someone is in the bath, it will have water in it, and therefore no silly jumping in. Unfortunately on the stupid night, the bather had not yet got into the bath.

My cat was the catalyst to get a Reader!

My cat likes to rest on my (left) arm while I read. This makes it hard to hold a book and turn pages. When the first Sony Reader came out, I thought "Great! I can hold my Reader in my right hand and turn the pages." That was the beginning of my Reader mania. I'm now on my fourth Reader, having figured out that the touch screen has rescued my thumb from dislocation. I even got a reading stand to hold the book, so all I need to do is swipe!

My cat likes to start in my lap and then wedge her head around or under the book, eventually moving to my chest and getting right in my face. If it's a paperbook, then she likes to lick the pages. It's rather annoying sometimes, esp when her long hair gets trapped around the ereader screen edge! And then she starts purring so loudly that I can't concentrate on reading. She acts the same way when I am on the phone. My theory is that she doesn't like that something else is getting my attention that isn't her, even if it is an inanimate object!

I have enjoyed reading the posts on this thread. My cat is water-obsessed. She even fell in the toilet accidentally when she was kitten but that hasn't scared her off. I have to keep the door to the guest bathroom closed at all times, or she will jump in the tub and keep meowing for me to turn the faucet on! She even drinks water by dipping her paw in the bowl and then licking her paw. She eats her food that way too. One morsel at a time with her paw...

After I got my first reader - a Hanvon 516 - I had it sitting on the kitchen table in its leather case... When I went to get it, it was gone... The reader itself was on the floor next to the lounge room, and the cover was chewed to pieces.

The reader was attached to the cover by magnets, and that saved the actual reader, but not the cover.

Sounds like you have one jealous cat there. I've never heard of a cat that likes to lick paper though .

my dogs usually cuddle up to my feet, so they IMPROVE the reading.
If they ask for patting during reading i just tell them no and thats it

But Caya looks atme with that sad, pouty, cute puppy dog face and sends me a very loud telepathic vibe that she needs petting and she needs it now.

Yes, our dog is spoiled.

My cat is persistent. If I try to remove her off the chair or bed, then she just jumps right back on me for more petting!

My 4 pound chihuahua thinks his place when I am reading is directly between my eyes and the screen of my sony. I love him dearly, but I can't catch a break!
