I love that this case is also a "stand".

How much does the cover weigh? Will the front fold back flat? Can you use a light with the case on?

The plastic is not that hard, a good nail file would get rid of the tab - though I used a dremmel, the drilling is only slightly tricky - I used an electric screwdriver with a pilot drill attachment...no Hospital visits required!

I like the Sony 650 Lighted Cover in red, and so far the best price I've found for it is $42.99 with free shipping. Do you think I will be able to find this at a better price, especially with Black Friday/Cyber Monday coming?

I also want a lighted cover. Could you share the link for the $42.99 cover? Unfortunately, I haven't seen any cover sales for the holidays.

Great, thanks, I think I'll order it so I'll have it for my Xmas travels. Even with shipping I think that is the best price I've seen.

I agree, I love the GO jacket they have for the 650 and wondering if the one for the 600 fits the 650.......... and if no, wonder why they are not making them.

Well too late regardless, I just ordered the red jacket that has the built in light, it's pretty nice. Wish there were more color choices though but the red is good and will match the red sony..............

I still haven't decided on what case/cover yet but I did pick a Wenger zipped pouch over the Case Logic semi-hard case. I liked the look and feel better than the Case Logic. Lack of M-Edge jackets well and truly sucks. I may try modifying a 300 case as suggested earlier. My naked 650 just feels so delicate in my hands. Grrr...

I bought a new PRS-600 cover on ebay for $8.95, carefully lifted the clip bar from the case, removed approx. 8-10 mm from the bar with scissors, cut off the extra plastic 'lumps' (that sat down inside the case) on the bar, then reglued it to the cover with gorilla glue. The 650 is a little smaller overall than the 600, but I like how it sits inside the cover with about 8-10 mm extra; it feels more protected.

It's a clever idea, and you can find those PRS-600 cases at a lot of Best Buys for about $10. I suppose, though, the question that pops into mind is: given that the official Sony PRS-650 cover is available at places like B&H online for $35, is all this effort to basically jury-rig the PRS-600 cover worth saving the $25? I mean, if someone has the wallet to drop $200 to $230 on the reader, it hardly seems like another $25 would be enough to break the bank. Anyway, just a thought...
