This is where some rudimentary voice control navigation could help. It would just need to recognize about a dozen or so words: ‘next’, ‘previous’, ‘home’, and numbers 1-8 (to select an item on Home page), and maybe ‘read’ and ‘pause’ (to start and pause Voice View narration). It could be enabled whenever a BT headset is paired.

Sure, there are cases where it might be, uh, handy, but the context was a mitigation of the loss of buttons. I should have written: "I don't want to be forced to talk while reading."

I wish it would be possible to search for a whole word without seeing all other words that contain the same letters. Made-up example of the current problem: if there is a character in the book named Hank and you do a search trying to find where Hank has appeared, you also get every instance of the word "thank". (At least this has been the case on my Sonys and Kobo. Don't know if all current ereaders are like this.)

Have you tried suffix or prefix with a space?

I've edited documents for too many years and SQL since MS 6.5.
Also I use Regex mode to find "hard to spot" errors when proof reading. |
