Wi-Fi
Anyone else have trouble with Wi-Fi turning itself on? It happens everyday on mine. I thought it may have been one of the recently installed apps, so I uninstalled all the recent ones. I made sure the Wi-Fi was off when I went to bed last night, but when I got up today, it was turned back on. I am on Fire OS 4.6.6, which installed May 7th, and may be when this started.

I keep mine on Wifi... Saves mins on the phone calls. I do turn it off when I am out & about.

Audible Starts Wi-Fi?
My battery has been draining faster than normal lately, that is the reason that I have been tracking this. I installed the Battery app, it said Audible is the biggest drain. I just started using Audible, since they offered a 3 month trial to Prime members. Last night I used the Battery app to stop Audible, and today when I got up the battery was at 94% and Wi-Fi was off.

Anyone know how to Block incoming calls? I keep receiving calls from 2 different numbers.... when I answer Nothing its annoying They are Long Distance & call all hours day or night.

Go into the Uninstall & Remove updates & Disable it. You don't need an Audible App. just slid out the left panel & go to audible from there. Apps for books audible 7 several others are just short cuts. I never bothered to DL them.

Katie,
go to the number you wish to NOT receive call from and swipe to the LEFT.

Blue box should come up DECLINE all or DELETE. Tap on DECLINE and hopefully that will keep them from unwanted calls away.

I listened to Audible for about 45 minutes today, then stopped it with Battery. I just checked the battery, haven't charged it since last night, it's at 84%. It seems that I solved my problem.

DANG DANG DANG I was so happy to get a new phone Havent had it very long & Now the Battery DIES At Noon it was on 98% except for Wifi being on I haven't used it all day at 3am its DEAD! I guessing it didn't survive being on Amazons back shelf Not happy... 7 weeks now dead.

The headphone jack failed on my fire phone. I was using it a lot in the car for audible and TTS. I snagged the cord on something, so it's my own fault. I don't think I want to risk opening it up, since everything else stilll works and the connectors are probably too small for me to fix anyway.

No point to this post, just venting.

Have you considered getting a bluetooth speaker for your car? Some will even clip to the sun visor.

Not really, I'm not eager to have yet another separate gadget that needs to be kept charged or attached to a charge cable all the time.

I used my HD6 the last few days. So I'm not going without audio books while driving.

Have you tried another wire? Also I sometimes need to re-seat (unplug and plug back in) the connector before Fire Phone realizes it should output audio to the headphone jack.

Yes, in fact, my first guess was a damaged cable. I must have examined the cable for visible damage 5 or 6 times before I even considered the phone could actually be the problem.

The same cable works with other devices and the phone doesn't work with headphones either.

Mine just went, too! I used it with two different cables, in addition to the earphones, it doesn't work at all.
