The internal rhyming of the words "spoken open eyes" and "broken open eyes" is a particularly nice touch. The way those words roll off the tongue yields an extremely pleasurable sensation.

Since others have posted songs to this thread, I thought I’d post one of mine. It’s no doubt over-produced and perhaps a tad pretentious, but I like it, and I hope you will too. All the instruments and vocals are mine. The female accompaniment was accomplished via the gender bending capabilities of my Calvinova. Forgive my crappy voice. It's the only one I have.

Walking down the street, a man whose feet never touch the ground.
Has his own little space, a fascinating place only he has found.
It's a great escape for a naked ape whenever he feels down.
When he opens his eyes inside he cries. Can't hang around.

Sitting in her house, a timid little mouse, shades pulled down.
A lady blocks the light, shuts out all sight, doesn't want a sound.

a look back, from a distant future

Here I sit,
on the Earth's Moon,
it is not needed anymore,
the jet packs we have now,
can boost us up to LEO
( thats low Earth orbit)
and a planetary boat,
can be rented for a small fee.

So a big old rocket,
is no longer needed,
to make the journey
out beyond the Earth's atmosphere,
unless you are going.
outside the solar system,
and they are working on that.

If they need lots of cargo space,
those boats can be hooked together,
and interior walls moved around fairly easily.

So Good Night Luna Station,
It was fun knowing you,
the crowds waiting for transport,
and travel are long gone,
the local sky is lit up,
with thousands of planetary boats,
traveling hither and yon.

The laughter,
the sadness,
the people,
the good-byes,
the hellos...

At least,
I'm not in charge of solar system traffic anymore...

Its time I retired,
gonna take the last interstellar ship,
out and beyond.

Here is another poem that means a lot to me

There once was a young man from Nantucket
Who for a hat used a rather large bucket
With the handle neath his chin

I know not where else I could tuck it

and stop for a while at your rest.

take a pleasure in the rays from the sun, as it shines;
