A cup of New English Tea's English Breakfast.
Stitchawl Have you heard of Tea Palace teas? When we go to London we are planning to visit Tea Palace in Covent Garden that sells the teas. I wonder whether it is worth it ![]() Besides visiting Fortnum & Mason of course ![]() What we have been planning as a day out in London is turning into Tea day out in London. A visit to a very good steak house has been cancelled and all the money will be invested into teas ![]() If we get time we will also visit The Tea House Though most important is TeaSmith, because they have tea drinking events every Thursday at 7 pm. We would like to attend it if they aren't fully booked up yet. |

Yeah... It wasn't like they taught us in school. It was only a couple of guys who dumped a couple of crates of tea. Nothing spectacular. Worst still, it didn't cause any governmental changes. We were taught that it was all about taxation, but in fact, that was a different issue. The only thing it really did was make for a good story.
The 'no taxation without representation' part was actually about a tax placed on white pine trees with a DBH of 12+, mostly found in Vermont and western Massachusetts, not about any tax on tea. These pines were used as masts on British war ships, and if you had any on your property and wanted to cut them down, you had to pay a high tax to the Crown or face jail time. I brewed the tea in the office with the paper baggetes. In the morning two mugs of Keemun (the same baggette reused and the second was still decent while the first one was absolutely fantastic
![]() Let me smell it. nothing? faint oh faint. It is there. it forces me to focus. Taste. it is still too warm to take anything more than tiny sips. More than taste I get sensations, basic (opposite than acid), a nice feeling, alive. Now it is less scalding. I can take it with more elan. Great drink. Pleasant after taste, very nice sensations. It is relaxing. To feel it I have to concentrate, while the black tea I had in the morning made itself felt even if my mind was on other stuff. Thank you prof. |
