Watched the first few episodes of The Devil's Hour with Peter Capaldi on Amazon Prime. It's been creepy and quirky enough to keep me watching thus far.

Approaching the final couple of episodes of 'Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities' and I admit to finding it slightly disappointing. The two or three actual Lovecraft tales that are featured in there,are barely recognisable as they have been altered and padded out almost beyond recognition. I am still a sucker for any decent 'horror' based show and will finish watching the series, but alas, it did not turn out to be as good as I expected!

I thought the first one (the storage unit thing) was pretty damned banal myself. I mean...what part of it had any suspense, or that wasn't obviously set up from the jump? We then tried the 2nd story and I'm not sure we made it through it. Just...boring. I was quite disappointed with it, overall and generally speaking, I'm a bit of a fan.

[shrug]. Oh, well.

Finished this up last night. I'm not certain it stuck to its own canon in the end, but it was still a lot of head-trippy, creepy fun for me.

I finished the last episode last night.

It was an okay season IMHO.

Not sure what to watch next. So many things I'm interested in have been released lately that it's hard to choose.

Finished 2 good Danish series, Blinded - Those Who Kill and Below the Surface

Now starting the French series Crimson Rivers.

Watched "Inside Man" on Netflix. Written by Steven Moffat and starring Stan Tucci and David Tennant. What a mess. At least it was mercifully short. Tucci was great and Tennant had his moments, but the whole thing was pointless.

Just started the final series of 'Money Heist'. Complex and twisting, as silly as it may get from time to time, it keeps me watching!

Watched the three-part (1.5hr eps) "Karen Pirie" on BritBox. Scottish cold case mystery. I quite enjoyed it.

EDIT: based on a series of books by Val McDermid, apparently.

I've watched the first four episodes of Warrior Nun earlier this week. It's okay, I wasn't a huge fan of the first season, but it was entertaining enough to watch when using the stationary bike. I will finish this season, but not in one go, as I normally would with only 4 episodes left. I'll probably watch an episode each evening. I'm not sure what to start next; so many things I'm interested in have been released lately that it's hard to pick.

This weekend I finished Warrior Nun. It was okay, better than the first season, in which I felt not a lot happened. Last night I also watched Inside Man. Great acting, but none of the characters were very likeable, the plot was not believable. The ending just left you hanging on one of the story threads, clearly assuming a second season will come. After finishing it I was just frustrated with the story.

I had the same reaction. Great acting to very little end.
