Lol, I'm still using 5.8.11 and 5.9.6.1 on my PW3s and 5.10.1.3 on my PW4s.

There's nothing in new firmware that tempts me particularly given the latest firmware versions seem to be actively anti-jailbreak.

I really want to use wifi (browser, wiki,..), so what can I do in order to prevent automatic update?

Honestly, downgrade to 5.10.x or 5.11.x and keep it there.

Afaik, 5.11 can delete the update.bin.tmp.partial folder but it still respects the SKIP_UPDATE_CHECK file.

1. FYI, my device is kpw4, G000 PP12 9355, Japan version.
2. The right now fw is 5.11.2.
But I don't know if the fw has been OTAed or not.
I've read all the posts in this thread, from others' info about sn and fw version(collected by @ilovejedd, thank you), my right now version may be the original one.
But I did all the wrong things(connect it to WIFI, not creating the anti-ota folder, login my account..., very unlucky not to find this forum before I opened the device). And in the device info, there is a "last update" button, and it shows the update info of 5.11.1.1(2019.04) and 5.11.2(2019.05). So I don't know if my info is useful, sorry for that.
3. From others' posts, I find that someone successfully jailbreak the device even if the device have not been jailbreaked before in 5.10.0.1/5.10.0.2/5.10.1.3, and has been updated to 5.10.3/5.11.2/5.12.* by OTA. Is that right? If yes, how can I do that too?

Hello, I have been reading threads and replies but I'm still very lost. I recently got a brand new PW4 that came with 5.11.2 firmware and that has never been updated. Is it possible to jailbreak it?
I was going to PM ilovejedd as requested, but since I'm a new member, I can't.

I'm still confused.
The thread you mentioned doesn't mention the 5.11.2 as jail breakable, but there is this thread that mentions an >= 5.11 jailbreak, and there are replies above that mention successful jailbreaks on 5.12.x.
There's different and conflicting information scattered all around.
Maybe that's why there are so many repeated questions, because it's all very unclear?
