Classical-music.com's free download of the week is Allegro from the Concerto No. 7 in E Major by Antonio Maria Montanari.

Classical-music.com's freebie download webpage says about this piece that
the Allegro from the Concerto No. 7 in E Major by Baroque violinist and composer Antonio Maria Montanari (1676-1737). Despite Montanari's glittering career in papal and noble circles in Rome, Montanari is barely remembered today outside dusty music history books. These concertos reveal a vivacious and inventive composer who could certainly hold a candle to his more famous contemporaries.

The recording, by Johannes Pramsohler and Ensemble Diderot, was BBC Music Magazine Concerto Choice in May 2016. 'These are performances of terrific flair and abandon,' writes Kate Bolton-Porciatti. 'Pramsohler's rigorous technique makes light weight of Montanari's virtuosic writing'..

For those that didn't get in on it before Disney is once again offering a free copy of Monsters, Inc. when you link your Disney Movies Anywhere account to at least one provider.

For those unfamiliar with DMA it's Disney's version of Ultra Violet. Buy the movie once then have access through all participating providers when you link your accounts. Currently besides DMA themselves you can link to Amazon, Vudu, iTunes, Microsoft, Google and Verizon Fios (new).

If you already have an account with providers linked, but didn't get the free movie before I've read that folks have been successful unlinking and relinking a provider in order to trigger the free movie.

From the Domo Music Group: a free song.

It is the song Umi (Sea) from Shinji Ebihara and Takako's album Smile.

The song is tagged "japanese folk," "new age," "folk," and "music."

One of Kitaro's tour members, Shinji Ebihara release his original album from Domo Records on September 4th. Shinji has been touring with Kitaro as a keyboardist. This album includes Japanese traditional folk songs for children.

Get the song free from this webpage. You don't have to have any kind of account with Domo, you will simply need to furnish a (valid) email address, to which they will send you a download link.

I've listened to the entire song. It is very pleasant. The oriental character is very subdued and, frankly, it doesn't have a "new age" sound to me at all. It is sung in Japanese, so very few of us probably will understand the words of it, however.

I'm still trying to acquaint myself with Domo's free song promotions, since it's been only two or three months that I've seen them and posted them. I don't remember if we will see them once a month or more frequently than that. But, so far, I'm very happy with what they've provided to us gratis.

Like the previous post, this post is of a single free song from an album. Unlike the offering in the previous post, however, this one is available in both mp3 and flac formats.

It is the song Serrano de Corazon (Highlander at Heart) from the Smithsonian Folkways Tradiciones/Traditions series of Latino music albums, produced with support from the Smithsonian Latino Center. (I'm a little confused about this matter, but I think that the album that the song comes from is eponymous with this particular song).

Checking the GiveAway of the Day (GAOTD) website today, to see what software offering(s) that they have for free right now, I noticed a section called Game GiveAway of the Day. I've noticed that the website gives away apps and smartphone games and stuff, but this is the first time that I've noticed them offering what appears to be a real game for a real computer (they may have done it before and I just hadn't noticed).

I am not a gamer (I don't even care much for board or card games), but the Game GiveAway of the Day today looked pretty intriguing. I navigated over to the webpage for it and checked the current user rating. It may be a real turkey, but the the user ratings are currently 86% positive (14% negative). That's pretty good!

So for the benefit of my fellow MobileReaders who do like games, here's the vital info. It's called Great Secrets: Da Vinci. It's on this webpage. And, in case you didn't catch the implications of statements above, it is free.

I think that these promos all expire at 3 a.m. Eastern time. That means that you must have them downloaded and installed them by that time.

Google Play's got a couple or more of newly-marked-down-to-99-cents albums. I'll highlight two of them that I feel are outstanding deals.

Madonna. The Immaculate Collection. The Material Girl's first greatest hits album. It was released in 1990 (is anyone else feeling real old right now?).

Pantera. The Best of Pantera. Another greatest hits compilation. Pantera was some kind of metal rock group which disbanded in 2003, but produced some great hits in that genre before going kaput. All of the songs on this album are remasters.
