The weather? Well, here it's raining and raining... Has been raining now for many weeks...

Fortunately I live on a hill, and all that's flooded is my back patio - up to the door... I can't get to my birds, but at least they have got plenty of water.

I find it so odd... I Denmark you can buy buy raincoats and gumboots everywhere, but here in Australia, where it rains so fast and hard, all you can buy are umbrellas. Maybe I'm supposed to walk out to my birds in bare feet...

How about this flooding? The view out the train window both this morning on the way to work and this afternoon on the way home from work was incredible - especially crossing the North Pine River and the South Pine River (or should that be the North Pine Torrent and the South Pine Lake?)
I don't think SEQ water is very good at maths though:

Storage: Wivenhoe Dam
Full Supply Capacity (ML)*: 1,165,238
Current Capacity (ML): 1,728,590
% Full: 100.0

and

Storage: North Pine Dam
Full Supply Capacity (ML)*: 214,302
Current Capacity (ML): 222,685
% Full: 100.0

I think the dams are a bit more than 100% full.
They are having to let out so much water it is causing flooding - because king tides are expected in the next week, and the tides could cause even worse flooding if they can't hold some water back in the dam then.

I did actually see some blue sky this afternoon - for a few minutes.

The sun, the sun.
Out for a moment, then it is done.

I think I have annoyed my husband though - he flies back from Darwin tomorrow and I usually drive in closer to the city so we can meet at a train station near the airport and travel home together. I told him I wasn't willing to drive my car there tomorrow in case the flooding makes it too difficult to get home again - he will just have to use his cab charge voucher to get all the way home in the taxi. I can tiptoe my car home along the ridgetops away from the water. It will mean a whole extra hour before we see each other again. It has been a month since we have seen each other - neither of us wants to endure an extra hour of separation.
Stupid weather.

It was chilly this morning, but now we are enjoying another day of spring-like weather here. 15 C! (That's 59 degrees fahrenheit)

27F and covered in snow this morning, but it's sleeting now. I heard some freezing rain during the night, but I think it was mostly sleet. I don't mind that -- it tends to bounce off of the branches and powerlines, and although it wreaks havoc with the roads I'm not going anywhere anyway. I just want to keep power! It's really beautiful, so if I decide I don't mind the sleet/cold rain stuff I'll go out and take some pics later on.

Alabama is closed today due to the ice storm. It is white and crunchy and slippery out there.

It is warm and yummy inside my bowl of oatmeal with dried cherries cooked in it.

I think I will abide inside with my oatmeal!

I'm waiting for your weather to get here. Apparently we have a dome of dry air over us (I believe it - absolutely no frost on the cars this morning) that is evaporating snow before it reaches the ground. This will gradually saturate, allowing first snow (supposed to start around noon) that will switch over to sleet, freezing rain, etc. over night.
I'm keeping an eye on my window - plan to bail out home to beat the icy stuff!
