Working on Eye of Darkness . Think of it as Thomas Harris meets J.R.R. Tolkien.

Lucas Veritatus a retired knight and ex-Sheriff of the North Country is hired by Avenyë, a young woman, outcast of her tribe, to find who is abducting children in the Outlands, a region of lawless thieves beyond the boundaries of the realm. Haunted by rumors the Daoine Sidhe have found a way to breach the geas that binds them behind the veil between worlds, Lucas must travel to the Outlands in pursuit of a serial killer practicing the darkest magick of all - blood rituals that threaten to open the Eye of Darkness and release the Dragon who will end the world.

Might not be the best back cover blurb, but it's a start

I'm currently finishing my second novel (East Wind Returns was my first). It's a political/crime thriller that begins in 1944 Sweden and ends in the US in 1960.

Here's the (very) short blurb:

Silent witnesses to a murder long unsolved face deadly choices when the killer runs for US president.

Working title has been "A Murder in Sweden," but I'm considering new possibilities. "Unpunished" is my favorite potential new title at the moment.

I've just finished the third book in my thriller series but can't release it as an ebook yet as my new agent is touting the series about for me.

In the meantime I've just started editing a romance I wrote a few years back, I'm turning it into a paranormal romance.

I have finished 88K of "Sarah's Spaceship Adventure" and 87K of "The Colors of Passion and Love." I plan to epublish at Amazon and Smashwords. Has anybody published with Google Books and what was your experience?

A nonfiction article on artificial intelligence and three short stories that have been loosely commissioned from an online magazine. Oh, and TDN*, but really, that one's been mostly theoretical this month.

*TDN = That Dang Novel. I'm going to finish it soon. Really.

Gearing up for the second draft of The Goblin of the East Hill - a children's book about a bacon-loving goblin. Also pondering Gilbert the Liar - a not-so-cautionary tale in which lying brings success. Lagging well behind those, but still on the list is Fortune's Favourite - a young adult story about an eighteenth century cross-dressing teenage actor.

I know what you mean, it's hard sometimes. One thing that I have tried is to forget about what I'm suppose to be working on and switch to something that I want to do. Sort of like impulse buying. A lot of times, the stuff that I switch to will never see the light of day outside of my computer, but just the feeling of writing is often enough to bring me back to what I should be doing.

I know what you mean. Sometimes ideas don't want to come together. I'm also worried about what the 3rd will bring (social security problems) and having a worry of that size isn't the best thing when you're trying to do other things.

Finishing the first book of a (science fiction) series that's been more than a decade in the making (the universe was seeded waaay back when I was a freshman in high school), working on a webserial (see the link in my sig), and soon to be going back to finish and polish up the first book in a science fiction trilogy I started two years ago.

The fifth book in The Tea Series is almost complete, then it is on to the sixth book, and the first of a new series, The Auntie Series. =)

I'm working on a non-fiction book, a military history of the War of 1812. Since it follows a particular army and unit, the book is more narrative-driven then many scholarly histories. So far I've finished two chapters in a rough draft, and am working on the introduction chapter before I get too far into the midst of the book. My working subtitle is "American Artillerymen and the War that Created the Midwest"; but of course I need a catchy phrase for the main title.

Having tried my hand at fiction, nonfiction is very nice since the material is already there. But balancing detail and narrative flow can be very difficult.

I just finished Book 3 in my psychic archaeologist series, and I'm working on the edits for Book 2 ('The Mongol Objective'), and also just started a 10-part novella collaboration with another author, called 'The Lazarus Initiative'. Going to try offering that one for $.99 per 'episode' and see how that goes.
