The surprise ending (and the future plans based on it) sound fun. Now we just have to wait a year to see how Russell Davies handles it!

I watched the first episode of Tokyo Vice last night. I'm not sure if I like it. The story was okay but I felt the episode just kept going on and on. I will give it another episode before I decide whether to continue or not.

Man...I went back/forth. I liked it, then didn't. Genuinely (and never recovered from) intensely disliking the so-called Protagonist. (What a total, pompous, self-centered azzh*le!) Though it had some striking moments but OMG, meander much? And in ways that didn't aid the understanding or anything else. I also felt that there were some "plot twists" that only an ignoramus could NOT see coming, esp. a big one having to do with The Woman near the end of the...IDK, season? Series? Who knows? If you have the time, might be worth continuing, but I think our general feeling when we got to the apparent, alleged end was "meh, not next season." Offered FWIW. Hitch |

I watched Doc Martin S10 E3 tonight on Acorn. I heard that all episodes have aired on ITV in the UK.
I am watching a replay of a youtube livestream now where Yo_Ang was walking on the High Line (from Hudson Yards to Chelsea to the Village). |

Watched what was supposed to be the 'last ever episode' of Doc Martin last night and then over the end credits the voiceover announced 'Thats it finished .... until the Christmas special!'.
So hopefully, one more to come! |

Currently watching Ghosts of War on Amazon Prime. It isn't too bad (but that's coming from someone who has seen a lot of crappy horror, and enjoyed it). It's set in WW2 (or is it?), where a group of soldier is posted at a (haunted) mansion to keep an eye on things. They think is will be easy, but of course it isn't. The story isn't your standard horror movie, that's refreshing.
Edit: Finished it. There's a twist, which is okay. The ending does leave a lot of questions. Last edited by Rumpelteazer; 10-29-2022 at 02:57 PM. |

Watched Recoil, a pretty good Norwegian series about a gang of petty criminals trying to to recover loot that was stolen from them by some corrupt cops and bureaucrats.
Now watching S2 of Manhunt. Is Martin Clunes a one-of-a-kind talent or what? |

Since it's October 30 it was time for another viewing of The Crow. And it's still my favorite movie of all time. This time around I really came to appreciate Anna Thomson as Darla.
After that I watched a couple of episodes of Staged (it seems I have entered a David Tennant phase). Right now I've got the Formula 1 on. Tomorrow I will, of course, watch some horror films. I'm just not sure which. Maybe The Blair Witch Project; it's been years since I've seen it. Fright Night (David Tennant as a vampire I think) is also a possibility. (and yes, I haven't continued with Tokyo Vice, and I probably won't) |

Last night I watched the first two episodes of Vatican Girl on Netflix. About the disappearance of a girl who live in Vatican City in the early 80s. A good documentary. I still have two more episodes to go, but because it's mostly in Italian I follow it when I'm cross stitching. So tonight I think I might start with a couple of episodes of The School for Good and Evil and finish the evening, once I'm done stitching, with the third episode of the Vatican Girl.

Started watching Wild Bill (BritBox) - Rob Lowe as a snarky American somehow hired as Chief Commissioner of police - for the city of Boston in England. The sometimes savage humor - on both American and British sides - has saved it from its improbable premise.
And am counting the days until season 3 of Dead to Me drops on Netflix - one of the freshest, most imaginative series ever created. Christina Applegate is brilliant. |

I watched two horror movies tonight which both had some comedy in it. And I really liked both, even though I don't normally do comedy.
The first was Deadstream. Where a disgraced vlogger locks himself into a haunted house and streams his experience to get back into the good graces of his followers and sponsors. Of course things go south. It pokes fun at vloggers (and apology videos) and ghost hunting programs. Great fun. Up next was Fright Night, the 2011 version with Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, David Tennant and Toni Collette. A teenager's classmate start disappearing and he finds out a vampire lives next door to him. He tries to get an illusionist, who's also a specialist on the occult, to help him. I must say I didn't mind David Tennant's appearance in this film, and he play his role very ott, like it should. Toni Collette, I will never be a fan of her. She always gives this same look in anything I see her in, this eye roll-y look. Both were fun to watch. I'm not sure what type of series I'm in the mood for, so for now I'm going to continue with the movies. Tomorrow I'll maybe watch Bodies, Bodies, Bodies. By Dutch director/actress Halina Reijn. |

I did watch Bodies, Bodies, Bodies tonight. Which was okay. But I deducted points for the music/sound effects being too loud in comparison to the dialogue.
Then I watched Offseason. Which wasn't really my thing. Tomorrow I might watch some sci-fi or fantasy to switch things up. I've been watching a lot of horror lately. |

Two or three episodes into 'Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities'. Seems to be a Lovecraftian based series,so far all the nastiness has been tentacled and amorphous horrors! Good fun if you are either a Lovecraft fan, or just like a decent little horror series.
