This description (Pu-Erh is described like that everywhere) drives me nuts. I have never eaten earth, how would I know its taste?

Earthy, to me it means simple, basic, not flavored, not smoked, just natural. I think most of us have had grass type plants in or lives so we know what grassy is. Earthy is similar, in the sense that the tea has not been mucked with, but doesn't taste grassy.
I have played softball for 30 years so I have eaten some dirt. The dirt itself doesn't taste bad, just gritty. The good news is that Pu-erh is not gritty, just earthy. (grins) (shrugs) It is a good taste. I like it |

A funny thing about what you get used to, growing up: After I got married the first time, we moved downstate. It was a span of about three years before we got back up to Amarillo. It was raining that day, and we got out of the car and smelled wet cow. I had never noticed it before, because I grew up with it, but Amarillo always smells like wet (or dry) cow. |

"Cranberry" tea. Notice how I put cranberry in quotation marks? That's because the tea only actually has 1% cranberry in it, but it still says cranberry on the box. Hey, at least it tastes good!

![]() Could you give a link for Pu-Erh you have got, please? I would like to see its size. You put one ball into a cap? a pot? What is brewing temperature? A cup of Pu-Erh aged. Although, I had some 25 ml of ![]() ![]() |

http://shop.tgtea.com/store/product/...Pu-Erh-Tuocha/
I steep it in an infuser bought at Teavana, the 16 ounce cup which drains when you put it on top of a mug. TG says to use boiling water for 3-4 minutes so that is what I do. You use one ball for 16 ounces. A 100 gram bag came with 21 balls. |

Pot two of Jasmine Dragon Pearls and Rooibos Tropica with a few pieces of German Rock Sugar.
Earlier I tried Lupicia's Melon Oolong. Didn't like it. If you like fruity teas and want more of an emphasis on the fruit then the tea, try Lupicia. The tea is a good quality tea and the service is excellent. It simply is not the type of tea I drink. |

It says 1 Toucha per mug. How big is a mug? No idea. I sent email to Chrissie (the owner). If she says it is about 450ml then it is 16 ounces. A cup of Nepal Antu Valley. Well, I finished the cup while typing. The next will be ...Bancha Houjicha? Maybe ![]() ![]() Last edited by astra; 01-20-2011 at 04:50 PM. |
