Couldn't sleep, so I got up and finished the book "A Little Death in Dixie," by Lisa Turner. I think I got it free from Amazon recently, but the Kindle edition is listed at $8.59 right now. I admit that I don't always expect a lot from the books I get free that way, but this one surprised me by being very good. Lots of atmosphere, with even the "good" characters having enough flaws to make them real. If you picked it up when I did, give it a read.

I just finished The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Not until nearly half way through did it start to interest me, the first half took me 4 days and the second half less than 2 days to read.

Going to start with the fourth book in the Pendergast series Still Life with Crows by Preston and Child after my reader has charged for a while (good excuse to start watching the second series of The West Wing again).

I read it but didnt think it was their best.

Just finished reading The Shadow of the Wind translated from Spanish. Thought it was slow at times but lots of wonderful dialogue and pearls of wisdom.

One problem was the author purposely deceives you into making wrong conclusions.

But overall a wonderful read.

I just started "Warrior" by Zoe Archer, the first in her Blades of the Rose series. It's a historical romance, but with some interesting twists (this one is based in Mongolia).

I read that one last year and I agree with you that although slow at times it's a wonderful book. I've got the prequel The Angel's Game in my to-be-read queue, I'm waiting with reading it until I'm in the right mood to read something a bit slower.

I got mine from fictionwise during a sale, but unless/until fictionwise has a good sale, the best place to get them is currently webscription.net where they're $6 each.

Good so far...

Oooh. Let me know how it goes.

I'm going to wait to read his next one too. It took me 7 weeks to read Shadow.

I'm about 30 pages from finishing that one; I couldn't stay awake any longer last night to get it done. I plan on finishing it tonight. Yesterday I finished Bellwether by Connie Willis (audio version). It was a fun light read.

Uh, probably. LOL I always have the desire to point out when they are audio books for some reason. I think I feel they don't count as "real" books because I have the pleasure of listening to them while folding clothes or dusting furniture. Hee hee.

**Edited to add, thanks for the welcome, Kenny!
