I went for lunch at the Priory in Caerleon, then for a walk past Arthur Machen's birthplace and the Roman amphitheatre. It started pouring with rain (which was nice, because it's melting the snow). But it was too wet for a walk, so we went to the museum for a bit instead. It's still raining, but more snow is apparently on its way tomorrow or Tuesday.

Wow almost all of the snow has melted

The wind picked up though so it feels colder than 50 F.

It got over freezing today, they had to cancel a big outdoor hockey tounament , the ice was slush.

Presumably that would be a problem. They didn't have an indoor place to go?

They couldn't do that because it's a new trend called something like "olden days hockey" (that's a loose translation from the French expression "hockey d'antan"); in which players clear the snow before a game and play at whatever temperature of the day. Just like when we were kids. But melting ice completely denies us that.

It is a nice cool day, maxed out at 24 C (75 F) with humidity - it's been 'trying to rain' all day. Lot better than the last four or five days - all above 40 C (104 F)..

It's going to get up to 45 F today. Which is nice, but now my house is surrounded by a moat what with all the little ice dams that have formed over the winter. When it starts raining this afternoon, that should emlt some of them down, I think.

I was thinking "hockey downtown" which pretty much describes La Crosse on a Saturday night, without the pucks.

It got up to 50F here yesterday, which was very nice... "Practice Spring" is a good way of putting it.

Not quite that warm today, but sunny. I can deal.
