It would be my guess that the JPEGs were derived from the B&W and that those were amenable to CCIT compression supported by PDF.

The 11 original Sandman graphic novels by Neil Gaiman and many talented artists are on sale for $3 a piece.

It looks to be Amazon exclusive and Amazon lumps them together with larger omnibus editions (not on sale), so you have to sorta look.

Be aware, if you've not read Sandman, the first book, Preludes and Noctures is weak. Neil was still figuring it all out.
