Well, just in time for autumn in the northern hemisphere, anyway. For those of you in the southern hemisphere, it's about 6 months too early.

The 86% figure is based on the digital list price of $13.99.

The webpage for this book at Amazon says that it is the "Spi edition." I don't know what that means, but, if you do, maybe that will be helpful information. Why don't they explain these things to us?

Thanks. I grabbed it. I'm trying to learn how to make good iced coffee. Maybe the book will have some pointers and/or recipes for it.

"BoldBarista.com," the "author" of this book, also offers a free 14-page "book" for free. It's called 21 Delicious Coffee and Cocktail Recipes. The blurb says that it includes:
- 11 Coffee Recipes
- 5 Iced Coffee Recipes
- 5 Coffee Cocktail Recipes

Unfortunately, to get this one you have to give an email address and name (they put you on some kind subscriber list, also; hopefully it is easy to unsubscribe if you don't like it). Then you download the ebook. Here's the place to get it.

UPDATE: I just downloaded the ebook. It's a pdf, of course. Most of the recipes are a little unusual. The ebook itself is very attractive and, it looks like, very well-done in every respect (most of the time you don't know whether or not that's true about an ebook until after you've downloaded it).

I've had this ebook occupying a tab in my Web browser for several days (meaning that I wanted to post it). There's nothing in the world wrong with the book--it's a fantastic, very highly rated one, in fact--I just had other things that I wanted to post more.

I'm not sure what to make of this book, completely. It is from a English/British publisher. The author was from England. The recipes seem to reflect those things. However, the book description says that the creations are "international classics." The book was written quite a long time ago (be sure to read the last part of the book description below--it's very interesting), so the recipes are "old." But it seems that the old recipes and cookbooks are making a comeback these days. Good food never stays out of style.

Isabella Mary Beeton was born in London is 1836, where she grew up in a household of twenty-one children. It took Isabella four years to compile her masterwork, publishing Mrs Beeton's Book of Household Management in 1861. I didn't see the cakes and baking book that I posted. It may be in some archive in G.B. Funny thing--I read recently that there is a law there that a person can access digital archives, of books at least, only from inside a library. I don't remember the rationale for the law.

Mrs. B was a remarkable woman. It's amazing what she did in her short life.

Oh, no, I don't mind the 99 cents, either (that statement might ruin my hyper-frugal reputation. ha). The ones at the freebie sites, even ones like books.google.com/books that tend to have better quality reproductions, are not as "clean," for one thing. That's why I don't mind buying books from the publishers which reprint public domain books, like Chios Classics, Pyrrhus, ad infinitum.
