Also compared my PW1 screen to my PW2 screen and the PW2 light is warmer. Not really yellow, more of a light, light sepia. I actually like the warmer cast to be honest. The text is fine.

Before I returned my PW2's, I took a comparison shot between them showing a book cover. I thought I may as well post it to give an idea how much more washed out my PW2 was in comparison to my PW1. The font looked like it had a haze over it. This was the case on both my PW2s. For whatever reason it was a bit more difficult for me to capture the difference with text with my camera, but in a photo it became easily apparent.
PW2 on left, PW1 on right. Edited to add - the light was on max for both. I also took pics at other light levels if anyone wants to see them, just let me know. I'm pretty sure I have a pic where I have the brightness pictured too, but it makes it so you can't see much of the pic. Last edited by sparklemotion; 10-05-2013 at 05:26 PM. |

The above looks like the brightness is to high washing out contrast to me.
What we need is a book we can install that has test patterns on each page. a contrast chart would be good also. I don't quite get how that .azw file mentioned is imported to my kindle. So if someone could enighten me I would appreciate it. |

I can't wait for next year, when the ads for the PW3 are going to say it has a TRULY WHITE SCREEN WITH BLACK TEXT!
Like this year. Like last year... |

Matches Malone, your PW2 looks better than your PW1.
Also sorry for the pinhole. Is it somewhere you can ignore it? |
